I know this might sound biased but i don't really care cos i still don't think it's fair, What do you think?

I am the oldest child of 2, there is an age gap of four years. We are having the attic converted and my brother is getting the room, it sucks. I've wanted the attic room since I was 6 yrs old (that's 8 years) and my brother's never been bothered. I even had to have my room made smaller so my brother had a bigger room. I hate being the older child =[ Why can't I be the only child I'm so upset.

You can't be the only child because you have a brother. I think you should have been given the attic because of your requests to make that your room for a long time. You are just going to have to suck it up and move on. Pretty soon you will be old enough to go get your own apartment. Then you will have more room than you know what to do with .

Bummer girl, it really is. I have to be honest, this is the FIRST time in my life I have ever heard anybody say they hate being the oldest. Miss you have it made! They only do this because he's the youngest. Look at it this way, he's being treated like a baby and probably will be for the better part of 20-30 years. Heck girl, you get the responsibility and advantages of being first in line (as long as you show respect and handle responsibility well). Membership has its privileges. Try a compromise. Ask your parents if you could have his room after he takes the attic and then they use your room for what ever they where going to do with the extra space. Good luck!

You at least have your own room....Attic or room, its still great!!!! So you did not get your way this time... get over it!!!

Living in a remodeled attic has its drawbacks, such as: it get HOT in the summer--yes, heat rises. Another thing: more stairs to get there... Also, I;m sure there is no bathroom up there (unless he is ok with peeing out the window 'in case of emergency'!!!!).

Who knows, he might end up begging you for trading to the attic... then you will know that the attic has been greatly over-rated all this time!!!

Best of luck to you. Hope this helps.

You still have the first child syndrome. Your life is going to be why me if you don't get this out of your head. A lot of people have this why me and they are stuck in a rut of life. They can not make things better for themselives.
Cut this problem into small parts and overcome each part and change your way of thinking of your problem its not your problem its your brother's problem. You should think
I LOVE ME, My MIND AND BODY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT TO ME. What you think about yourself and you will be that person or thing. Other people will react to what you think.
You can loose nothing more when you lay in the hospital not able to move from the neck down. But when you over come this and then walk again you have everything. You have everything now so don't blow it. LOVE YOURSELF, I'M THE MOST WONDERFUL, MOST LOVING, GREATEST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN. THINK I AM VERY BEAUTIFUL AND LOVING AND EVERYONE AROUND WILL FEEL THIS FEELING OF YOUR LOVE. you won't need to say or do anything. IT WILL JUST HAPPEN

ok, your 14, why are you arguing about getting the attic room, be thankful you have a room at all. Think of all the other kids in the world who don't even HAVE a room, let alone, their OWN room, and ur gonna make a big deal about having your own room, just not the one you want. STOP being so darn selfish, it's kids like you, that make other little kids seem like little devil children, because you don't appreciate what you have.

Yea, there was an episode of Brady Bunch just like that and Marsha wanted the attic at the same time Greg did. It was real dilemma in Brady Bunch land and in the end Marsha decided to give up since Greg was older. Do you by chance have a maid named Alice? This is really weirding me out.

i'm sorry you're upset about this, but there isn't much you can do about your parents' decision.

and even though you'd haev a lot more space, remember it's only a room! it's not like you had your leg removed.

be happy you're healthy and move on....
