and if so do you think it would cover a thin black line that's less than half a centimeter long?

no its not a chinese character lol.

theres just a tiny line on my tattoo that i dont like and i want to get rid of it. i would show you a picture but you really cant even tell in the pictures i have, but i know its there and it bothers me.

i cant really add a background to it either. it wouldnt look right. it would be too "crowded" for lack of a better word...

ill probably just have to see what my artist can do when its done healing. thanks for your ideas though and if anyone else has any, they are welcomed of course!!

Yes. Yes there is. There was a misspelling on my tattoo, that did NOT even see when I first got it done, but it was corrected by drilling out the black line that made the letter a lower case "e" and changed it to a "c" which is what it was supposed to be. It only took one drilling. Sometimes it may take two or three times, but mine was good in one.

Edit: Explaination of "drilling"...
Using the flesh colored ink, and going a bit harder than normal with the tattoo needle, my artist was able to remove the line of the lower case e completely, making it the c it was supposed to be in the first place. I imagine a good tattoo artist could do the same for you. It doesn't "cover up" per se, but it does remove it.

Putting skin tone ink over it will make it more obvious. I have seen this mistake all too often.

You will never get a perfect match as your own skin color changes and the tattoo color is constant, the black will show through and it will simply end up looking like a muddied mess.

A tattoo artist should be able to come up with something... but don't forget that your skin tone changes depending on what season it is and how much sun it gets.

Tattoo artists should be able to fix it in another way, like adding a background, etc.

I agree with ennie in regards to your skin tone changing frequently by season so trying to have a flesh-tone cover up will likely make it more obvious.

I would go to a good, reputable artist and explain what you would like to have done and see what they think. I'm willing to bet the farm that they have seen things like this and would have a great idea that will make you happy.

regretting that chinese character you thought was "courage" but ended up being "pork fried rice", huh?

i'm pretty sure there is flesh toned color, but it wouldn't be all that good in covering up black. eventually the pigment in both would start to break down and fade, but since black is both darker and made up of more individual colors (black being the presence of all colors) your first tattoo would eventually come back, but less discernible.

if you want the tat gone, you're either gonna have to have the laser treatment or burn it off. sorry.
