neither, food is a more enjoyable "whey" to get protein. Only use protein shakes if you find them very convenient. get 25g of protein every 4 hours you're awake, from whatever variety of sources you choose. more if you're huge. the best is probably almonds, salmon, and other tree nuts and fatty ocean fish. Many vegetables contain some protein. Grains have a little more, and legumes have lots.
