I was just wondering if creatine is safe for me to take because I have a very very slight heart murmur and slightly high blood pressure and I want to know if creatine can affect it in anyway.I don't think it does but I want to make sure. Please no answers saying to eat protein bars or anything like that because i've tried that for 2 years and didn't get much from it.Thank you.

creatine supplementation is used at the MayoClinic for treatment of chronic heart failure I think that says it all. just stick to the recommended dosages and make sure to increase your water intake to prevent cramping. also you don't want creatine monohydrate to stay in solution for very long it breaks down into creatinine pretty rapidly. best to put it in water and slam it down then drink your post workout protein shake.

creatine is a strength supplement so they only way that you will see an increase in muscle mass will be if there is a caloric excess in your diet. creatine does aid muscle protein synthesis but with out the proper diet the will be little if any increase in muscle mass

I don't think any of us can tell you definatively, but it's not a new supplement or a new fad. It was discovered in 1832 and has been used for a number of very serious muscular/orthopedic disorders for about 20 years. You can find a lot of information about it on-line, some of which is very objective and balanced. The problem with giving you a "yes" or "no" answer is lack of complete information about your age, COMPLETE health history and your definition of a slight heart murmur. I can't advise you to take it without consulting a medical professional, however. In general, it is not particularly dangerous but we are all unique.
