Public aid does cover braces, only in certain cases though. The orthodontist has to go through a list which pretty much assigns you a point score for how bad your malocclusion is, if the point score is above a certain number, then public aid will cover it, if it is not above the number, you are out of luck. I can tell you from experience most people do not qualify. A large component of the score is whether or not you have cross bites or if your 1st permanant lowers are lining up correctly. The lower molar should be ahead of the upper by one cusp position. If that doesn't make sense, do a search for class I occlusion. You can go somewhere that takes public aid and get the consulation for free to see if you qualify. I also don't think they cover it if you over 18, can't remember though.

I think you mean public aid. I don't think so, but if you ask a dentist, they would tell you.
