its very easy to use. think of it as a mixture of mac os x and windows, with a pinch of genericness and simplicity.

lets put it this way... Microsoft have joined the ranks of linux they have partnered with several linux companies, so Microsoft thinks Linux is very special other wise they would never have bought into Linux...

Linux brought out the virtual machine... where you can run windows, Linux, and Mac OS/x on any computer Apple mac is a form of Linux, called Unix also owned by a Linux company,,Novell...

do some research into linux you will find that the biggest companies in the world use Linux..

IBM
Intel
Nasa space agency
Us army. Navy, Air force,

Linux will be the first operating software to reach Mars..

just a few things to think about when it comes to Linux

Linux is "special" because most "Distros" (like Windows has 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP Home & Pro, and the various Vistas) are $FREE. It is a LOT more secure than Windows or Mac. It is "Open Source" which means that programmers can work with it's "Kernal" to improve it or add more applications to it. You can't do this with Proprietary Software like the M$ or Mac.

The reasons that Linux is "Special" are a LOT more than can fit here!!!!!

To find out a LOT about Linux go through these sites with a fine toothed comb:

http://www.linux.org

http://distrowatch.com

http://www.linux.com

Then do searches in your SEARCH ENGINE(S) on Linux to find even MORE info.

well Linux is a operating system that is the same as a windows just that they are not that popular among people as compared towards windows.

They are the same, just that the difference between Windows and is because that Linux is so called a "Open Source" operating system and they have alot of distribution but the core distribution is Slackware, Red Hat and GNU Debian.
