I think the parents, pastor and maybe elders decide if the child is truly ready for membership and baptism.
I teach sunday school. There was one boy who was 7 and I thought he was very young to be professing his faith. But after talking with him, I realized he was ready, he was a Christian and Jesus was working in his life already!
He is an amazing kid.

That's like asking if there is a minimum age for membership in a family. One becomes a member of a family by being born. One becomes a member of the Church by being reborn through water and the spirit in Baptism.

Well, I'm technically not a member anymore.... but yes. The minimum age for baptism was 13 (the age of accountability for Mormons... until then you are not truly accountable).

I think that baptizing very young children, or accepting that they are "saved" is a bit silly. You can't know at age 5 what you are going to want/need for the rest of your life.

Yes. We do: They have to be born. They are not members until they come out of the womb and are Baptized. God makes the Christian in the font and Sacrament of Holy Baptism. That is where God does His Work of Baptismal Regeneration.

A "profession of faith" is too nebulous for us. How much faith is enough? God does not grade on a curve. God requires the New Birth by water and the Spirit.

The most important criteria is your ability to pay >10% of your fat salary to the millionaire ministers every month.
If you have a small salary, don't even think of getting a registration form or getting any inch close to the minister.

There is no minimum age. This is not like a bar or anything. There is no cover charge, either.

Have a good day.
