Okay cutting carbs in the morning is not the smartest time of day to cut them. If you want to cut carbs i would do it in the evenings when you do not need the energy not in the mornings. However some really good protein sources in the morning are cottage cheese lowfat of course, all meat has protein, but sausage and regular bacon are high in fat, and you may want to try protein shakes. Your best bet would be to have carbs for breakfast to give you energy throughout your day. At dinner cut out the carbs and eat salad and protein. Cottage cheese about an hour before bed will curve your appetite and it is a slow digesting protein giving your muscle plenty of fuel when you sleep. Good luck and i hope this helps.

The highest quality protein available naturally is eggs. If you want to cut the cholesterol, you could just have egg whites or limit your egss to no more than 2 servings per week. Low-fat dairy, peanut butter are also good choices. I agree that cutting carbs is not a good choice. Carbs are your main energy source and should comprise 60% of your diet. Work on cutting the fats to no more than 20% of your diet, with the remaining 20% being high quality protein. Also be sure to consume a variety of fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water.

all sources of protein have different nutrient profiles which is why a balanced diet is optimum for health as it reduces the possibilities of nutrient deficiencies. you could have eggs, a protein shake or fish. the digestion time for meat and poultry is to long to make them good choices for the first meal of the day.
there is no reason not to have carbs in the morning. they will help to provide energy since the body is in a hypoglycemic state from the nightly fast. the insulin response from the carbs will help to decrease the levels of the catabolic hormone cortisol. ingesting some carbs also has a protein sparing effect. since blood sugar is low the body will convert a greater amount of amino acids into glucose if no carbs are consumed.

Why cut out carbs in the morning? You should keep the carbs in the morning and cut them down for dinner. Whey protein is good. Chicken and fish are good "real" food choices.

You can cheat by sprinkling a bit of whey protein over whatever you want to eat. My favorite protein is not very breakfast-ish. It's edamame, I love the stuff so just eat whatever protein you like in the morning and don't worry if it's not what everyone else eats for breakfast.

Eggs. I LOVE eggs. They give you a great start to your day. I just made scrambled eggs. I use 3 eggs, but only 1 yolk. Then add a little milk. I also mixed in homemade salsa, a little cheese, and ham. PERFECT way to start your day! BONUS: You get some veggies in the morning!

I'm all for eggs. They've gotten a bad rep in the past, but are very heathy, great to take a hard-boiled on the run too!
