Studies of couples have indicated that married men are happier than single men -- and that single women are happier than married women. Much of it has to do with the division of labor in the domestic sphere; men *traditionally* get the better deal.
For some people there are many ways to feel connected to other people, to have closeness without marriage. For others, only that special one-to-one bond makes them feel like they have a reason to be here. Those are the folks who often make mistakes in choosing a partner, because they want to experience that *bond* more than they want to be with a well-chosen individual.
As for yourself -- know what you cherish, and decide if marriage will help you to experience that, or if staying single makes more sense.

Depends who you are married to I guess, some girls are married to the man of their dreams and then I would imagine they would be very happy, if you are married to the wrong person I would think that married life would not be full of joy.

if you mean girl (female) I believe that it can be either depending. For my it has been after marriage I love my husband and life couldn't be better, but for some they can get into the wrong marriage, and be happier without it some will never get married and be content with that. It all depends...

Depends on what kind of relationship you have. Mine got better. It's all about who you marry. I've known many that are seriously let down.
