cut off any activities that require thinking such as computer games. It's best if you do things relaxing in the evening such as a hot bath. soaking for 30 minutes will calm the nerves and relax the muscles.

Drink Chamomile Tea in the evening. This is very good at helping people to sleep. You can purchase this at most natural markets or supermarkets.

Exercise during the day everyday but not within a few hours of bedtime. When it gets close to sleep time, turn off TV, keep the environment quiet and still, which also means turning the ringer off on your phones and letting your housemates know that it's time to quiet our minds to prepare for a healing sleep. Try calming herb teas until bedtime and you can also try melatonin if you need the extra help and do not have a health problem that contraindicates.

Also try yoga so that your mind doesn't race and keep your body awake. If you need a start off in yoga try this link.

sometimes it could be your diet. refrain from caffeine or foods/drinks containing caffeine after 6pm. also, try relaxing a bit before going to bed. like, don't turn of the tv and go straight to bed. try a nice warm shower or relaxing soak. spray your bed linens w/lavendar or drink a cup of camomile tea. if soothing techniques do not work, then consult a dr. you could have a sleep disorder. it is very common. sleep aides may help if this is the case. also, do not spend time in bed for anything other than sleeping. do not watch tv, read, play video games etc. your brain needs to associate your bed w/sleep. try going to bed and getting up at the same times each day. this will help your brain develop an internal clock. sweet dreams!

I also have a sleeping problem, and one thing that has worked for me is this MP3 from Brainsync.com that sends a certain type of soundwave to your brain that tells it to go to sleep. It sounds weird, but it actually worked.
