This is actually a much more complex question than most people realise. Any attempts to provide evidence would be dimissed by most as religion without giving it an honest investigation. Arguments presented by Intelligent design theorists are rejected although those who reject such arguments have no alternative answer. There is no explanation that specified complexity can self organize. Then there is the fine tuning of the universe which most people don't understand. if gravity were stronger by only one part in a trillion, trillion, trillion the universe would have quickly collasped back on itself afer the big bang. If it were weeker it would have expanded so quickly that no galaxies would have been formed. Other fundamental constants include the strenght of the electromagmetical force, the ratio of the masses of protons and electrons, and the strong nuclear force that holds atomic nuclei together. In fact there are over a dozen constants that must have been precisely the values they are in order to make the universe habitable. The odds of these vaules being exactly right are in the caclulations of Oxford physicist Roger Penrose one followed by trillions and trillions of more zeros. The earth's distance from the sun and its near circular stable orbit, provide the right conditions for liquid water, which is necessary for life. Just as the solar system is the Milky Way's galactic habitable zone, so the earth is the solar systems circumstellar habitable zone. The moon also stabilizes the tilt of the earths axis, preventing wild fluctuations in temperature. The moon together with the sun also attribute to the earths tides which mix nutrients from the land withthe ocean and help to drive the ocean currents to regulate our climate. The earth if much smaller would not hold an atmosphere or generate the strong magnetic field that protects us from cosmic rays.If the earth was much larger the increased gravity would mean more atmopheric pressure and less surface relief; in fact the planet might be entirely covered in water. Although all these facts are true when the producer of a film called the privileged planet presented this at the Smithsonion Darwinsints went balastic and demanded it not be shown because it drew philisophical conclusions and yet they had no problem showing Carl Sagan's Cosmos seriers although he presents his philisophical conclusion that the Cosmos is all there is and was and ever shall be. I don't intend to suggestthis is ultimate proof but rather evidence. It would be difficult to prove we exit let alone God but just for the record were here.

Hi Steve and good morning.....This is a great 'argument and debate' question. Lojique had a good point, there is no proof that God does exist but on the other hand there is no proof He doesn't so both bounce the other one out so do speak. In the minds and hearts of the 'believer' and as Christians we were taught that God exists by looking around us. The 'life' that was created here on earth. In the Book of Genesis it purely states that God created the earth and the heavens and 'All living things'. So with this in mind if God didn't create the heavens and the earth and 'All living things' then what or who did? Evolution? Scientists and Archaeologists and researchers believe that 'evolution' took off and ran it's course. That they have found 'evidence' in Africa of the earliest ape-man species in skeleton form from millions of years ago. Ok this might be true, however I just can't picture 'Adam and Eve' as apes...sorry. How was the earth formed? A hurling moon or star perhaps from another exploding star? How did the universe form? Why out of all the planets was 'earth' chosen to be the only one thus far with 'life' as we know it? We assume there might be life on other planets but do we actually know? No we don't. This is why we explore the possibilty. Christians believe through their faith that God does exist. Scientists believe on the concept that 'evolution' is the factual based answer. You have your own belief about the creation and I have mine. We as humans have that knowledge to choose our own ideals. I believe that there had to have been a Great Spirit or Entity that created the heavens and the earth. However, I do have an open-mind on somethings written in the Bible. I'm not saying that what was written is false, I'm purely stating that I have my own questions concerning some of the writings.I believe that God created life but I also feel that evolution had it's hand in it also. God started life where evolution finished. We all have our own ideas and views on God and the creation. We all have our own ideals and views on evolution, this is why we are human. To make our own choices and believe in our own dreams and concepts of life. So what you may believe doesn't mean another will believe in the same way. Have a wonderful day!

A lot of ways to answer that. How does anything start from nothing.....the more questions that are asked as to how things came about the more is not known...but that does not prove God....the statement that says if he existed we could see him does not disprove God either....God is not of this world.....that also does not prove God.....the fact the since the dawning of mankind they have looked and accepted a God or Gods may hold more as that is more based on an inner need and feeling....but again that does not prove God....you say don't say he made the universe...that does not disprove God or Prove God...but it does show if the questions are asked far enough how little knowledge man still has....also from the time of Jesus (actually way before) people were and still are willing from what their instinct tells them to live for and also to die for GOD.....that inner voice.....yet it can be influenced by the flesh...which by belief and faith the world and much of what is in it is the domain of Satan....philosophy and religion.

Job 12:7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
Job 12:8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Job 12:9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

the question regarding the existence of God is not the right question. first of all if i ask you all, how do you define God? (personally) what answer could you give that could make someone who doesn't agree in the first place to agree. plus, we cannot affirm or deny the existence of something without knowing what it really means. and you can never know or understand god if in the first place you have closed your doors to understanding or knowing him.

but thinking about your question it made me wonder why you still asked it. i believe there's something in you or there is a part of you telling you somehow that god exist. ~i guess.

if you're looking for an answer regarding your question, it is not in here, it's in you. you can never find an answer here or by asking people. there will always be biases. you will always receive arguments and counter arguments.

for me, my friend, the only way to find out is to know by yourself. the best way to prove to yourself that god exist is by bracketing your biases for the mean time , distancing yourself from your current belief, and experience it, relieve it the way other believing soul does. and see for your self if their right or wrong.

there is proof, its like you cant see the wind but you can feel it, and you have to let god into your heart before you can feel him. if you dont want to know him hes not going to force his self on you. there is proof its just that people would rather take the easy way out and beleive the big bang, which is inconstistant because i have studied it and even if the big bang had any truth in it, what put the thing there to make the big bang in the biggining?
gods the answer either way.

I have all the proof I need to believe just like everyone else that believes. We all have our own proof of why God exists. And it's not because it was hammered into our heads like some like to think. It's because something has changed our lives in such a way that no human (science) can explain. As long as you have blind faith as you and many others do you will never receive the gifts from God as we have. Do you really believe that millions of christain would still believe in God if this wasn't true. A true christain knows without a doubt that God exists by faith alone. Hey I like proof as good as the next man, like I want proof that this milk isn't sour before I drink it. I use to want proof that God was real, well I got it. I seen how God has changed people who were poor into rich, sick into health, exc, exc,. Just remember blind faith doesn't equal non- exist.

Everything is proof of the existence of God. If God was not there, then who made the solar system, and the air and everything else.

I know a lot of people are going to want to punch me in the face for this... but a child's laughter?

And the circulatory system is pretty complex, i'm sure that only God could create something so amazing.

Not again. How many times will this question be asked? Do a search on the forum and better yet, go do your own homework and stop posting the same question everyday.

Look in the mirror, read your Bible, call up a kingdom hall in your area and ask to speak with a Service Overseer. When he speaks to you, you tell him you'd like to set up a meeting with him because you have questions that need to be answered and he will honor your request.

After you do that, you won't ask this question ever again because you will have your questions answered and you will be shown the truth.

Get and do it now.
