It gives us a plan for conducting our lives for the best possible life for ourselves and families and friends. The 600,000 copies of self-help books published each year would be unneeded if the Bible were only used properly.
The problems the clergy has caused by their own greed and lust for power would not exist in but a fraction of occurances if the council at 1 Timothy chap. 3 for overseers and ministerial servants.
What about wars and famine? Most famine is caused, not by lack of food, but by corrupt government officials and warfare. The Bible shows true Christians should all speak in agreement and grow in love among one another by increasing accurate knowledge of God's word. True Christians would therefore not participate in the wars of earthly governments as their brothers would be on both sides of any war. This love and regard would extend to making sure all had enough food.
What about the future? Who do we look for to solve the planets current and future problems? Science, false religion, politics, business? The answer is none of the above. Man has tried for 5,000 yrs. to solve his own problems and failed. The only thing that can is God's Kingdom, a real government, from our Creator who knows us best. The Bible shows it will cleanse the earth of those in opposition to that Kingdom and bring the earth back to paradise standards like in Eden. There will be a resurrection of the dead not only of those faithful but also those who never had a chance to learn of God for whatever reason. Humans will be restored to perfection the way we originally were intended.
Can there be any doubt of the Bible's usefulness?

Actually, it should be much shorter.
My recommendation: Get a "red letter" edition of the bible, then tear out the OT and anything written by Paul and throw those away.
Then go thru what is left, and start by only reading what is printed in red. Then read a little around that, so you know to whom Jesus was speaking, and what the specifics were.
Pay best attention to what Jesus said was most important.
Hint: You'll find it in Matthew 22.

the bible can perform miracles... if your baby is too short to sit at the table the bible can be used to adjust the height of your baby thereby giving it life. If your neighbor covets your wife the bible can be used to smack your neighbor across the face until he sees god. If you are cold and lonely you can burn your bible to make a fire and the glow will attract people to you and your new fire. there is so much about the bible we are just now learning
