The Bible is true because it tells us the TRUTH. What is the truth? Try this simple experiment.

Pick a principle in the Bible and apply it in your daily life. If you can see a change in your life, that's the truth. By then you will know that the bible is true.

One principle you might want to experiment on is ---The Secret of Being Lucky in Romans 8:28: "All things will work together for good for those who love God...". Read on, apply, know the Truth and be lucky.

History shows the people, places, and events of the Bible actually happened.

Social science reveals the council on human interactions in the Bible would make the 600,000 copies of self-help books printed each year completely unnecessary.

Since past events are the basis for our trust in future actions, there is good reason for believing the rest of it for the future is true.

Well, a religious text is hardly likely to admit that it is coming from a position of complete hogwash, is it? Therefore it has to claim to be the truth.

The Book of Mormon claims to be truthful too. But, when you consider that, supposedly, the Amerindians are descendants of the lost tribes of Israel, but that their DNA proves that they are totally unrelated, you kinda start to have your doubts, don't you?

And Dianetics, the basis of Scientology, was created by a B-grade science fiction writer. That hardly inspires confidence in it, unless you are a gullible Hollywood actor of course. But, it does claim to be truthful - so at least it's consistent with the other religious texts.

A lot of the *historical* stuff in the Bible is most likely true, but if we follow that logic, then the Ramayana, Bhagavad-Gita, Epic of Gilgamesh, Vedas, Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Koran, Mabinogion, Eddas, etc. are true too, because there is some degree of historical accuracy in them. It's when we get onto the metaphysical stuff that it all starts looking a little shaky. I mean it's unprovable - totally unprovable. You can dig up Sodom, Troy, Babylon, ancient nuked cities in the Indus Valley - but they don't prove any divine presence on Earth.

Yes.......the Bible interprets the Bible. Most people approach the Bible, either knowingly or unknowingly, with a built-in doubt of its veracity. If we really want to know the truth, we should at least temporarily lay aside such skepticism and examine the Bible with an open mind. One wonders how many nonbelievers in God would remain nonbelievers if they read and studied the Scriptures and examined the evidence for its accuracy and authenticity.

For christians yes, it is the ultimate authority as God's word therefore what is says is true.
It has also been around for thousands of years, been translated into many many different languages, is the world's bestseller and when copied and translated - this was done with the utmost care contrary to popular myth. Now are that many people all over the world that stupid to revere this book above all others..?
Besides it is not one book but 66 books though this includes letters in the New Testament, also written by over 40 different authors and if you bother to study it you will find it has a unique and common theme throughout - which was developed over the ages it was written. Name another book quite like it?

No... The Bible of The True Christian Faith is only for those who are open to the leading of God through The Holy Spirit. The Bible does not prove God... But God will prove The Bible for those open to His leading.

A genuine Christian has the influence of the Holy Spirit who works in them.

Atheists need to get that straight. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit in John 16. Read that, and you will understand why Christians have the capability to understand the scriptures they way they do.
This is one reason why, not in all cases, that Atheists are often told that they are out of context when the are out of context. And then the Atheist reaction, no matter how many Christians tell them, is to deny it. That also is a sign that the Holy Spirit works a certain way in Christians. And that the Atheists are without.

The Bible is true because it is absoulte truth. Truth can never be anything but what it is. Truth. You can call it a lie , but that does not chanfge the fact that it is true. A lie on the other hand can never be true. Come to Christ!

You ever considered the fact that Christians accept the Bible as the word of God because it has been the experience of millions of Christians over two millenniums, that God spoke to them through these books?

Edit: I LOVE what Drake said.
