Why do you say we had no basis for attacking Japan? They attacked us 1st. Don't you know about Pearl Harbor? Every war is unique and there is certainly no comparison between WWII and the war now in Iraq. Wow-just went back and read the other answers. It's disheartening to realize that people are so ignorant of really basic history that anyone sees a comparison with the present Iraq situation and clearly have forgotten what Germany, Italy and Japan did in WWII.

Yes they do and let me tell you a little story, I went to school with this girl who believed that we never should have gotten in to WWII, even after we were bombed by the Japs, and that joining the war was one of the dumbest things in the world.
