I read a book once that gave me a lot of insight into how to view life. The book was based on five givens in life that we cannot change. Our contentment in life depends on how little resistance we put up against these five givens.
The givens are: 1. Everything changes and ends.
2. Not everything goes according to plan
3. Life is not always fair
4. Pain is a part of life
5. People are not loving and loyal all the time.
The author draws mainly from Buddhism and Jungian psychology. If your interested in reading it it is called 'The Five Things We Cannot Change' by David Richo.

Take a look at humanism. Humanism is a philosophy of life inspired by humanity and guided by reason. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life without religion.
Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values.
Humanists see no convincing evidence for gods, the supernatural, or life after death.
Humanists believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.
Humanists believe we must live this life on the basis that it is the only life we'll have -- that, therefore, we must make the most of it for ourselves, each other, and our world.
Humanist philosophies have arisen separately in many different cultures over many thousands of years. Whether or not they use the term humanism, tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world agree with the humanist philosophy of living a happy and productive life based on reason and compassion.

The trouble with free will is that God does not necessarily get the luxury of fair or not fair. If one believes we are free to make our own choices than does the responsibility of our more unfortunate circumstances lie with God, or with us? Sure, things happen in life that are beyond our individual control, but those are usually the result of others exercising their free will. God fits in when you request help and he/she shows you the way.
I don't know the reason for life, the answer is to broad. We are all here for a reason, but that reason is for you to discover for yourself. God wants you here for a purpose. The best way to find yours is by living right, not mostly right, not right except this or that, but genuinely doing the right thing. Also, follow your heart. In my experience, it usually knows the path to take.

Well I know for me it is loving and helping other people and telling others about the Good News of the gospel Jesus Christ. Another words were here to win the lost (people who are not saved, unbelievers, evil doers and even the most difficult to save like samaritans)and get them on the track to right living (for the Lord or God Almighty.)

Our reason for living is to have a reason. We are born without a purpose in life. We are the ones who choose what purpose in the world and to God we shall take.

Nobody knows, it is for the individual to find his/her own way, sorry if that doesn't fill your gap but it is correct. If I said,' well what you have to do is jump off that cliff', and you said oh thanks and did, then found yourself in a pile of broken bones, what would you think then? The road is hard and the road is long to self discovery, you have to go beyond the propaganda, the myriad of self appointed critics and the sectarian viewpoints. Then you will find your own 'Truth'.

We were created by God for fellowship with him. We were created with the choice to fellowship with Him or to live apart from His will. Adam & Eve made the choice to eat of the fruit of the tree which broke the fellowship with God. That choice caused the entire creation to be corrupted. God made a way to restore that fellowship with Him by sending his Son Jesus Christ to live and die to pay the penalty for Adam & Eve's choices. By believing in Christ our fellowship is restored with God. God is fair but he holds everyone responsible for their actions. If a person does not choose to accept Christ in this life, he will not force them to be with him in the next life. Those who reject Christ will be forever without him. Those who choose Christ will be forever with him. This earth will be destroyed and a new earth will be created for everyone who accepts Christ. Those who do not will be forever separated from him. Many think this world is a bad place to live. Just think about how bad it will be for those who do not accept Christ. They will live forever with all the evil people over the entire world from all generations. Such as Hitler, Stalin, Nero and Saddam. I sure don't want to be part of that world.

God is very fair, he let's you do things your way instead of his way. The rest is up to you.
If God was unfair you'd be a slave or puppet, forced by the yank of a string to do what the puppetmasters wants.

first off, God is fair--- Satan is not you sound like you need some direction in your life. Satan loves a weak soul. Go to a church any church and speak to the pastor, he or she will show you how to turn your life around and then you will find your purpose or reason for your life. Do not let Satan win

it quite is termed reason and result. What options you're making motives outcomes on your existence. loose Will skill that GOD won't intervene with our options whether GOD is well-known with what the outcomes would be. we are think to be grown up toddlers who make our very own judgements. So i think of which you would be able to desire to truly evaluation all of what occurred earlier blaming somebody (GOD) for what occurred.
