I got a Cure-81 ham on sale yesterday & thought I would fix it for dinner tonight. My mom always slices, seasons with pineapple & brown sugar and then bakes for a couple of hours. I thought I would try it in my crock-pot this time, but not sure what to add & how long to cook. I have brown sugar & pineapple as well as a cabinet full of spices - What do you suggest?

I also planned sides of garlic smashed potatos, peas & mushrooms and homemade rolls, but would something else go better? I have the above veggies as well as carrots, broccoli, pinto beans, squash, corn on the cob, etc......

Thanks for your help!!

First of all this sounds delicious. I love the brown sugar and pineapple. That's how I like mine seasoned. Is your ham pre-cooked. I am thinking most hams u buy these days are precooked so all u really have to do then is heat it to a hot temp. There should be directions on the ham as to what temp to heat it too. I like carrots with ham. When we have ham over the holidays we usually have different kinds of potato salads with it mashed potatoes. I think anything goes good with ham.

Slow Cooker Cola Ham
This easy crockpot ham recipe is very popular, made with fully cooked ham, brown sugar and mustard, and cola.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup cola (Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, etc.)
3 to 4 pound pre-cooked ham
PREPARATION:
Combine brown sugar and mustard. Moisten with just enough cola to make a smooth paste. Reserve remaining cola. Score the ham with shallow slashes in a diamond pattern. Rub ham with paste mixture. Place ham in slow cooker/Crock Pot and add remaining cola.
Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn to low and cook for 6 to 7 hours.
Serves 9 to 12.
A 5 pound ham could be cooked in a larger slow cooker. Cook for 1 hour on high, then 8 to 10 hours on low.

Your ham is precooked, all it needs is reheating. Place all your ingredients in the cooker and let cook for a few hours till heated thru. We always made either macaroni & cheese, or augratin potatoes with the ham. They go well together as leftovers.

My grandma would make her ham with orange juice along with the pineapple and brown sugar. You may like it, it sweet and juicy! If you like cream of mushroom soup you could add a can of stringy green beans, mostly drained, and mix it with the cream of mushroom, then throw some chow mien noodles on top.

But everything that you have listed sounds delicious as is!
