Hi Bobby, Yes the path of a solitare can be a lonely one. I often crave the company of other pagans in my daily life and would like to be a part of a coven.
I live in a small outback Australian town with a population of 9oo and i am the only Wiccan in town.
I guess that is why i spend so much time in here trying to form a connection with other Pagans.
~*sigh*~
Its a dream ...one day maybe!

I very much prefer the solitary path - however I do value having some likeminded friends that I can gather with from time to time to not only talk but celebrate, or partake in other more ritually-oriented events from time to time.
I've been part of working groups before, and found myself too sensitive to group energies. The energetic dynamics of coven work is so very difficult to get right and maintain. Those who can do it successfully are very lucky and very blessed!
But I also enjoy having the freedom to work as the spirit moves me without having to adhere to any particular structures for the benefit of a group. Even when I plan to do a ritual one particular way, often it will change as the energies begin flowing. At those times I find it distracting to have to stick to a script outline - although I do recognize the power that having such an outline can provide. There are certain rituals that I perform by rote every time, like the LBRP for example.
But, the solitary path is for me. I'm not an overly social butterfly type anyhow - more of a lone wolf. I have my small pack that I love and trust, and any more than that is just a distraction.

I'm a Solitary, but my reason is because I'm under 18, and most covens don't accept people under 18. It gets kinda lonely, but I have plenty of friends, some older, who are Wiccan/Pagan, so that helps. I've been practicing for about 2 years,so I'm used to it. I might join a coven when I'm older, but for right now, I'm just gonna stick with being a Solitary practitioner.

i started out being solitary. always wanted to join a coven. a few years ago, i did. it just wasnt for me. they were a nice group of people, but that particular coven just did not feel home for me. so, back to practicing solitary. however, i do have numerous pagan friends and my fiance is a fellow pagan as well. so we do some rituals together but also some separately. i might join another coven one day if i find the right one, but for now i am content.

I am super lucky with that. But go to the CUUPS site and see if you any nearby and sometimes you can find a group that way. I attend a UU Church and I have a nice earth study group. I am also really lucky that I have two covens nearby of pagans, one egyptian and one sumerian. It gets lonely with me sometimes so I just head out with them. Sometimes you have too around but you can find some people. Good luck! Even if you PRACTICE solitary its nice to have friends to celebrate with.

As for me, I like the path of the Solitaire. I would be considered an eclectic solitaire witch that abides by the rede, but not necessarily wiccan.
I do not wish to be in a coven, for i do have trust issues that i am here to overcome this lifetime...however, i find solace in connecting with friends of similar beliefs.
The downside of not being in a coven, is that i do not get to celebrate the sabbats in a ritualistic fashion, as i would like at times...however, i follow my heart and do as i feel is true and right for me.
I hope you find what it is you are seeking...
Blessings and Love to you and yours

I'm an eclectic kitchen Witch, but I do have other Pagan friends. I think it would be very lonely without them, because my faith is enriched by discussions and differences of opinion.
I don't want to practice in an established coven, however. Pagan spirituality of all denominations is so personal that those differences make unity for regular work difficult. I work with other Witches on rare occasions, when someone needs healing or we plan a special holiday celebration. Other than that, I'm quite content with Pagan friends.

Solitary should refer to one's practices, not one's life.
I'd be creeped out by a solitary with no interaction with others...

I'd love to join a coven, but in India it is not possible. Also the possibility attracts suspicion and possible persecution.

I came into the craft on my own. I feel more comfortable doing ritual alone. If I do it by myself, I don't have anyone telling me that the way I do it, is right or wrong, no one will look down their nose at me or tell me what to do-in general.
I found my path on my own and I prefer to walk it on my own, as well.
