well from my experience and what i have been told is the difference between the two are that the wedding invitations are sent out to everyone who you plan to invite to the wedding and the bridal shower invitations are supposed to be sent out to people you are inviting to just the shower. Most the time the bridal shower is just for the girls say mothers, grandparents, friends, parents friends and etc. they play games and give gifts and eat. I would have to say that you wouldn't just invite ALL the people to your bridal shower that you invited to your wedding because A) that would cost half as much as the wedding and B) mostly it's women you invite. I hope this helped somewhat! oh P.S. don't put your registration cards in your wedding invitations it's not very polite i guess( so i was told) the wedding registry cards go in the invitations for the bridal shower.

The bridal shower is a party for the 'Bride' to receive gifts. It is usually a gift for the home. Some women will register for the items at a store and give you card inside of the invitation with the name of the store. It is becoming a normal part of American weddings. It is a great idea since you spend money on something you know she will like and not have to worry that she will recieve 10 of them at the party. No bride needs numerous cake plates and coffee makers. Hey, noone should decorate their home in shades of rainbow.. lol. Let's face it my style or your style may not be her style. If I love all black and red she may cringe at it.. lol. (I thought you would enjoy reading about the history of the Bridal shower...)
As for the wedding reception a person can give another gift or a gift off the list or money in a wedding card. Where I am from in Ohio the Bride and Groom receive money. It should cover the dinner for you and your guest + extra. Remember, how often do you get to dressed up, have a fancy dinner, dancing and get to drink alcohol all night. :0)

The bridal shower invitation is for a bridal shower, which is traditionally the women in the bride's life. The point of the shower is to "shower" the bride with gifts to begin her new home (appropriate gofts are like a coffee maker, toaster, dishes)...the wedding invitation is for the wedding ceremony and reception or party afterwards....they are 2 totall different events, held usually about a month apart.

They are for two different events. The wedding invitation is for the wedding ceremony and reception - for the day the couple is getting married.
The bridal shower invitation is for a little party given to 'shower' the bride with good wishes and gifts, usually held a month or two before the wedding.
