My two cats do it too, (and have a play war dance like the MeerKats). I think they do it (and climb on things) to get a better view.

i have chihuahuas and 2 of mine do it, they tend to do it when treats are around or if i am am talking to them and they then want me to pick them up. Great little dogs, she looks so sweet when she does it.

my dog used to do that every time it was treat time its to tell you she/he loves you because you treat her/him well without cruelty, my dog used to count like carol vodermann she could add up and take away i never taught her this she just knew how many chocolate dog buttons were in my hand and she never saw them to know.
