the reason i think,you see a dress or something and it is fixed in your mind and you then drag your partner around to all the other shops,to try to get it cheaper,a different style,color,etc,etc,it does my head,her indoors can go shopping for hours,luckly theres football for me.please help me under stand.

The reason why women take great care what style, colour etc is to look nice for you men too admire! Not just buy the first thing we see regardless whether we look nice or not! Hope this answers your question!

Women love to shop we love detail we love the pleasure of the purchase. We love to work with color and fabric and getting the best deal. Men will do things that puzzle me too, run around endlessly in circles wasting gas when all they have to do is ask for help but they wont. And another thing although men and women love to watch football I know but watching sports endlessly can be some mens addiction. The issue here is why do that? Why not join a sports team yourself instead of wasting valuable shopping time you can have with your wife or gf? ;-) Better for their health. I leave my husband out of my shopping excursions as men can be irratating to shop with. I bought my husband a gps to eliminate gas waste and I use football when its on I stare at the screen and use it as an excellent mediation tool. I space out its great. Ladies try it ;-)

I think the first part of your question is answered by the second. The number of times I have been shopping with the boss for say a pair of shoes and noticed that she has spent most of the time looking at something else is phenomial. i think they are trained from birth.

Because it's part of the fun.
Shopping is an event to some women (not all women enjoy it you know), and just looking at nice things is part it.
Generally, men just go in to buy what they need, but we like to browse and buy what we LIKE (after much thought).
I don't think shopping is a religion, though.

When I go into a shop I head for what I want and get out as soon as possible. When my wife goes in she appears to go into another void, vanishing for hours. Then reappearing and saying something like 'They didn't have them in my size' she also insists on touching everything even when she isn't buying it! It's all very strange.

If you were after a major spare part for your car and had checked several different outlets for price/brand/quality etc. and you decided the first one you tried happened to be the best deal, wouldn't you go back there

I do not do this. I buy the first thing I really like. I can't stnad to spend hours going back and forth.
I HATE it!
I want to get finished and go do something else.....like swim or walk or read, cook, rollerblade, etc.
