Ask Brian's mum...

I don't believe he was the messiah or a naughty boy. I would say he was a charismatic activist, a socialist bordering on anarchist. He had some definate influence and this is why the law and order of the time tried to silence him and why the hierarchy corporate churches have elected him as the son of God in more modern times.

It appears that he was a very naughty boy since half the middle east was out to get him. Revolutionaries are never liked you see. The Messiah? Of course not. According to the OT prophesies he fits the description of the devil nicely.

Probably a very spiritual person but as an atheist I do not accept the premise of a messiah. It appears there were a number of so called messiahs and others who could perform miracles. I believe one was called Simon. Why so much is made of the way he died I don't know. The Romans put hundreds if not thousands of people to death in the same way using Crucifixion and I suspect many of them were innocent of any crime.

He was one of many so called 'messiahs' who lived in the 1st century AD and who claimed to be the son of the bible god.

However, Jesus was different in that after his death he was chosen by Paul as a tool to create a new faith which would ultimately defeat the Roman Empire.

Paul succeeded, hence the reason why the centre of the christian church is in Rome and not Jerusalem.

Jesus himself said he was not the messiah. the messiah was exclusively for the Jews and Jesus came to save all mankind

Ofcourse Jesus was the Messiah! Whoever thinks he was a naughty boy is clearly ignorant! FYI, Jesus never sinned. Not once! When he came to earth, he was human in every way. He faced the same temptations and trials we face now. But he suffered far greater than anyone ever has or ever will just because of his love for us. He died a very humilliating death so that he could give us another chance at eternal life. He is definitely the messiah!

The number of inaccuracies, contradictions, fabrications and pure lies in the bible make me quite certain that Jesus as we know him was no more the son of God than me or your uncle Dave.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank Nicky (above) for her input and ask her what it was like to be alive when Jesus was? You're certainly quite positive about all of those statements you're making there, mate...
