They purposely put themselves in harm's way. I'm polite, I invite them in. and then systematically challenge their beliefs, asking them questions that can't be answered. I overhelm them with doubt basically. Not the nicest thing in the world, but hey they came and bothered me right.

Do you mean people who come knocking at the door? Or do you mean the things that hang on the door and are used to knock?

If you mean people...I find them inconvenient usually, but I will listen and treat them kindly. After all they believe in what they are doing. I appreciate their conviction. I'm not sold...but I would never be rude to them.

If you mean the other kind of door knocker...I've never seen one but I can't think that it would bother me.

They don't come any more...

I always invited them in.
And offered fruit juice to avoid the caffeine restrictions...
My own book of Mormon and New World translation of the bible.
But most of the young missionaries were woefully unprepared and ill-grounded in their theology.

I'm moving soon, so maybe I can look forward to a new batch.

Mainly Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. I have never seen others.

I NEVER even open the door to them.

i think they are people who put up with a great deal of hassle.
they are truly only attempting to help others. i have them come to my door . i accept the papers and such thank them and they leave. i also have read the papers they bring.
i don't see any reason to be mean or rude to them ever.

i am muslim, and when JW come knock on my door, i treat them with respect. and that's simply because in their opinion they are coming to help me or save me from Hell (in their point of view) regardless if our believes are some how different, so why would i treat someone bad while he actually coming to help me?

just treat them with respect, thank you, but i am not intersted, peace and take care.

I'd rather have people knocking on my door who want to save my soul than people who want to sell me an overpriced alarm system.

I point to my no solicitors sign, say no thank you and wish them a nice day and close the door before they can speak.

Live and let live. Be kind, and understanding and be a good listener. It isn't like anyone is forcing their beliefs onto you. And if you truly listen you might learn something about other beliefs. Learning is never a bad thing.
