Who cares if you support the wars or not should we support the soldier more? Are we right to make them feel less proud than they do right now? Do we as a nation do enough to help them do their job?

The 1st thing we should do is give them all the body armor and armored vehicles they need instead of spending $20, million on a couple of $1.31 screws and washers. The 2nd thing we out do do is make damn sure they get the medical care they need. You DON'T do that by cutting the VA's Hospital budget 3 years into a war and give tax cuts to the rich!

Our military have not had decent medical care since Korea and in every war the government claims they should deny benefits to those who are wounded. They did it with Agent Orange and Blue, they did it with the Gulf War syndrome, they did it with the soldiers made to line nuclear bomb blasts, and they are doing it now with PTSD, closed head trauma, and radiation sickness from those "depleted" Uranium shells that the troops have been inhaling radiation from! Do you have any idea what the half life of radiation is?

We have always screwed the troops. This war is no different!!

If we did more to support our troops the frontline units would not be in the state they are - no reserves - equipment falling to pieces - next to no leave between deployments.

As I write this my son lies in bed. he is due to deploy again on 30th August. This year he has had 2 weeks leave. He's tired before he goes - a dangerous situation. His Regiment has lost 3 men in the last 2 months and is seriously understrength.

The problem is that the situation for the HM Forces does not directly effect the majority of people in this country - if it did the then politicians would be forced to take action to remedy the problem.

There is a lot being covered up by the Govenment which would take too long to write here - family's with members in front line units know a lot that is not made public.

If people were that concerned they would inundate Gordon Brown with mail demanding that our forces were given precedence over looking after immigrants and benefit scroungers or face defeat at the ballot box. Until that happens the situation will simply continue to deteriorate.

The so called MPs of the U.K . Do nowt at all to support our troops over the war`s and that means in any country of conflict that the MPs send our troops. Its all well and good to order men /women to the conflict ,from sat behind there desks and well paid jobs as an MP and sat on directors of another companies. And then go and visit the conflict after all the trouble had died down just for show and to obtain votes!! If the Cold war!!! god forbid ever started up again we with in the UK would be unable to defend our lands as we don't have enough of our own troops based in the UK to defend or land!! And in closing I would like to say`Why do we have over 6,000 of our troops A.W.O.L. ??? If I was an MP It would make me ask why?.Perhaps its got something to do with the U.S.A. HAVING MOST OF THE CONTRACTS TO RE-BUILD THE WAR TORN AREAS does that make any alarm bells ring??

I am a US citizen and I appreciate all of the sacrifices the British military is making in the war on terror. Their actions will not only make the UK safer but the world as well.

I was fortunate enough to serve alongside British troops; they are excellent soldiers and they represent you well, be proud.

What else can we do exept say we support them exept say we do and cheer them when they return?

Im grateful to every British service person who risks life and injury for the benefit of others.

The world is a very sh!t place at the minute, the should be love not war. Just listen to some music for a while and all your troubles will be forgot.

Make some suggestions as to how I can support them and I certainly will. I'm sure they are doing a great job but I have no personal contacts in the military. Is there a web site where we can express our thanks to them?

I'm ashamed of our armed forces and how they treat the poor Iraqis

This is how British Forces treat Iraqis in your name. Always remember this.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/military/story/0,,2069469,00.html

I quote from the article:

"Corporal Donald Payne brutally mistreated Iraqi hotel worker Baha Mousa, who died of his injuries at the hands of British soldiers, and other civilians held at a detention centre in Basra. He punched and kicked the civilians when they were hooded and handcuffed and conducted what he called "the choir" striking the prisoners in sequence, their groans or shrieks making up the "music".

Support this? You've got to be joking.
