You cannot get away from the enemy because when someone is not the enemy, the enemy is you! It is always out of the frying pan into the fire, because any friend or authority who sympathizes with your troubles, whoever it is who helps you to escape and consoles you, turns out to be the next enemy.
Have you ever heard, "Whosoever saves you, claims you ?"
Unless it happens to be God - He saves you, claims you; and He set you free; and, you are free indeed !
What say you all ?

Ninja Jolmod, What I am trying to say is that prideful people without God's Grace unconsciously draw Hell-based personalities into existence to attend and worship the needs of their falling ego state. The immediate effect of their election is to encourage the wrong in us to feel right about itself. So we the people become more self-righteous, unaware, and insensitive to the harm we are doing to others and the harm being done to us be our friends, leaders and lovers.
Our need drives us to go on giving to a whole legion of problem solvers to lie-love us and so "save-us" from the horrors of self-realization.

Michael B, that's exactly right ! All our works will be judged by fire ! Whatever works done (esp.good works) if not initiated and done by The Lord in us and through us by the Holy Spirit will be burned to ashes.
Remember , I do only what My Father shows me. The Son of God can do nothing of himself. !

No-good-name-le, On the contrary, it makes perfect sense. Don't you know the whole world is suffering from an identity crisis ?
Somthing of ourselves is always leaving us and going to others and somthing of them is always coming to us. And all this in turn has something to do with despair and dying.
In our present state of mind, everyone is becoming us and we are becoming everyone else.
The very act of bring two people together causes many very strange things to occur. Immediately one begins to lead. In the course of time, leadership turns to aggravation, then to tyranny and cruel domination.
Soon the tyrant personality begins to suffer feeling of guilt and anxiety for the demon role he is obliged to play while the hapless slave feel guilty for his weakness and growing inferiority. By adding resentment to the bully to go on being more of a beast.

Further more, sensing deep down that the way in which the victim is using him and responding to him is responsible for his own agonizing pain and power, the bully develops a contempt for the sniveling coward. The victim, not seeing his part of the reason for the evil lording it over him, holds the booby prize of judgment. And so they begin responding to one another in a deepening hypnotist-subject, vampire-zombie relationship.
Now, doesn't that make sense ?

really true 101, Thanks for you contribution and clarification and encouragement.
Yes, what you said is true-bad experience adds to bad experience, and personality adds to personality inside you, trauma builds on trauma, guilt on guilt, fear on fear, and the hopelessness of it all becomes a morbid depression.
As personal tyranny spreads to become political and church dictatorships, rebel organizations form, complete with their own fiendship/friendship teachers and leaders.
The heartless cruelty of Russian Christian orthodoxy created the mad Frankenstein monster of communism. The slave practices of the selfish business world created the equally criminal unions with their "friendly" underworld heads of state.
You are right, all those behavioral scientists, political and religious leaders who rise to the occasion of our needs become the next reason for concern.

How can I possibly disagree with you?
Any person who does, only lies to themself.
There's alot of that going on these days.
People loved to listen to soothsayers; its
so comfy to the ears, we feel so much better about ourselves.
I even see Churches actually changing the doctrine of Christ - one Church has literally removed pages of the Bible. Some groups are pushing for laws to make it illegal for some Books of the Bible to even be taught.
Why? Because the truth is a sword that cuts both ways, and that truth is too uncomfortable for some people: their
remedy: just pretend its not there, and listen
to those messages that make us feel better
about ourselves.
Result: there are dead people everywhere:
spiritually deader than a hammer.
Soothsayers are everywhere too.
PS; NO OFFENSE, BUT I THINK PEOPLE MAY BE MISUNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY. It seems like they aren't quite getting the message, and think you are saying that anyone who tries to help you is your enemy. You might want to clarify for them?

That makes utterly no sense whatsoever. When someone is not the enemy, then they are not the enemy, and somebody who helps or consoles you does not automatically turn out to be the next enemy, if anything they are more likely to be a friend. Do you just make this stuff up?

That doesn't make sense. So you're saying that every person I ever meet who helps me or consoles me then takes ownership of me and becomes my next enemy? That's ridiculous. There are people who help us in life that we never see again. There are people who help us that never ask anything of us, but friendship. How can that be an enemy? That completely obliterates any possibility of any person being unselfish, loving or compassionate which are fruits of the Spirit.

MARK 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
ROMANS 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
PHILLIPIANS 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
JAMES 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

"We have met the enemy... and he is us"~POGO
"There is no need to sally forth, for it remains true that those things which make us human are, curiously enough, always close at hand. Resolve, then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tiny blasts of tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us." ~POGO

Sin in itself is a prison. Satan hold the keys. Those keys are guilt, regret, remorse, etc.
Why bother, freedom is a better choice.

It makes sense, but god is not a necessary part of it.
It is possible to be free of troubles without a belief in god.
