When the bible was compiled much effort went into covering up the true message of Jesus.

The Jews were expecting God to send a King to set up an earthly kingdom ( kingdom of Heaven). And when I say king I mean handsome, rich,strong...but instead the Saviour was an unattractive carpenter. The nation of Israel rejected Christ as King, so Christ went to the Gentiles. The kingdom of Heaven was put on hold and the door was opened for the Gentiles.
The Jews did not understand the death, burial , ressurection. In fact when Jesus told the disciples He was going to die on the cross for ALL men, the Bible says they understood it not!
The gospel of grace ( death, burial, ressurection) was a mystery to the nation of Israel.
The gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven is not for the Gentiles. In fact it isn't relevant for the age of grace right now. It won't come back into play until after the rapture.
That is why it is so important to rightly divide the Bible. There are clear divisions in the Bible, but many refuse to see them and mistake them for contradictions. There is more than one gospel in the Bible. The gospel for today is the death, burial, ressurection.
Luke 4:43 happened before the cross, and if you'll read context the Kingdom of Heaven ( which is a literal kingdom) is always told and promised to nation of Israel. The Kingdom of God which is sometimes used interchangably with Kingdom of heaven when told to Israel .When told to the Gentiles is a spiritual kingdom.
Gospel is good news. The good news today is there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. Christ shed His precious blood for ALL men.

The hidden treasure is "The Kingdom of God"! For many will search and few will find it. That's why there are so many different "beliefs". People think that they find what they are searching for and are happy and content with it, and then someone comes along with the Absolute Truth and we appear threatening to your level of comfort and you don't want none of that! God forbid that anyone should be made uncomfortable.
Jesus also told the Apostles that He came to fulfill what was written in the Prophets. Which was His birth and death.
St. Peter preached the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost!! Acts 2:38.

There is much confusion in the 4 Gospels and you have to be aware that they were written some 40 to 80 years after Jesus ministry by unknown authors. Paul's letters were written before the Gospels were. The early church was struggling to survive and additions were made to the Gospels probably to aid its survival. There are inconsistencies between Matt Mark and Luke regarding Jesus ministry and John seemed to have his own agenda. It would probably be better if you concentrated on the words of Jesus rather than those of Paul as there is no evidence that he had ever met Jesus in person.

Lakely, don't really have an answer. He was kind of verbose and wordy? He wasn't an apostle or any of that. He went on and on about the Nativity and Elizabeth etc. He also traced Jesus' lineage thru a bunch of Jewish whores in the first chapters of his Gospel. Kind of strange, don't ya' think? In the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew talked about the "poor in spirit". Luke just said the, "poor". Is that the same thing?? Luke's Resurrection stories at the grave don't really match up with the other guys? Luke has always been a bit of a problem for Christian scholars.

LUKE 4:43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. (KJV)
Context makes this very clear. Jesus Christ is called to preach the gospel to "other cities also." There's no enigma here. Just clarity when you read the passage in context. (KJV)
JOHN 21:24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also MANY OTHER THINGS which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

We're all listening to Jesus' own statement here at the trial for his crucifixion:
John 18: 36-37
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
("To this end was I born...", to die for the sins of the world...
"To bear witness of the truth...," to teach the gospel.
With the gospel as a guide on how to live, people can repent and seek forgiveness through Jesus Christ who redeemed the world from the death of sin. People with gospel knowledge can live a righteous life living accordingly to the commandments of the gospel that was taught by Jesus. He died so that we would be worthy to go to Heaven as pure beings without sin. Why would he preach a gospel if there was no consequence for us sinning? No unclean thing (sin filled soul) can enter into the kingdom of God.)
How could you not understand that?
It's not a mystery.
He didn't just come to preach, he came to redeem the world through his own selfless sacrifice to pay the price for all our sins.

I am not sure what you are saying, Jesus was sent preach the gospel, As he also sent his Apostles to preach the gospel also, & Jesus id say, Tht he was sen to die, Why do you think he told Judas what you must do, do it quickly, Why did Jesus say tear this temple down & in 3 days I will raise it up again, what temple, His body. Don't just take one verse & try to make a doctrine out of it, You will be up aginst a blocked wall. You need all the verses.

Jesus did come to preach the gospel.
The word gospel means good news. He came to proclaim the good news concerning the Kingdom of God. The good news is that the way to get to the Kingdom of God is through the sacrifice of Jesus.
I don't see that the verse is ignored at all. Earlier on in the chapter we see this
40 At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to him. He laid his hands on each of them and cured them.
41 And demons also came out from many, shouting, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak because they knew that he was the Messiah."
The word gospel does mean good news but it's usage was more of "news that was life altering." A king would send out a proclamation (gospel) that was going to change the way the people lived. It was good news but the word gospel meant that this good news would change our lives and how we lived them.
So Jesus came to proclaim the gospel (life altering good news) about the Kingdom of God. This news was and still is...that he is the Son of God and will conquer death. The acceptance of this news is life altering.

Without the sacrifice there would be no kingdom. There is no salvation without the blood. The good news was salvation.
The Kingdom of God was Good News! It was Good News to the Jews because they had been awaiting the coming of the promised Messiah ever since the Babylonian captivity. It is Good News for us also because it means freedom from slavery to sin and selfishness. The Kingdom of God is here and now because the Holy Spirit lives in the hearts of believers. Yet it is also in the future because Jesus will return to reign over a perfect Kingdom, where sin and evil no longer exist.

Jesus didn't just come to do one thing. He had to accomplish several things. Preaching the Good News about God's kingdom and proving what it would bring about by resurrecting and healing people was also part of the package.
Glorifying God's name topped the list as #1.
However, dying and suffering was part of it too:
Luke 24:24-26 24And some of our people went to the sepulchre, and found it so as the women had said, but him they found not. 25Then he said to them: O foolish, and slow of heart to believe in all things which the prophets have spoken. 26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and so to enter into his glory?
