I live in Caterham and my fave pub is in Old Coulsdon called The Fox. Its in the countryside and is a proper country pub, with log fires, wooden beams and a nice garden. It serves the best food, Sundays are so busy because the roast is to die for! The menu is pretty varied and everything including drinks are reasonably priced, the staff are friendly too. Every visitor i've had in the last 3 years, I have taken to the Fox and they love it!

My favourite pub is The Bothy in Fort Augustus, near Loch Ness, Scotland. The staff are friendly, the food is just superb, the setting beside The Caledonian Canal can't be beaten. In the Winter there is a big log fire and at all times there is a truly lovely atmosphere. On Wednesday evenings there is live music, simple, traditional stuff, just a young man with a guitar, but very pleasant all the same.

In Basingstoke: the Queens Arms, Bunnian Place as it very much a local yet also has office and railway workers using it after work. Friendly, very high standard of ale and full of character and with a garden.

In the City of London: The Seven Stars, Carey Street (behind the Law Courts) - quirky local for legal people but also quite a few tourists - excellent beer again, real characters behind the bar (including the cat) and excellent food.

In the City of Westminster: The Speaker, Great Peter Street. Excellent beers, friendly staff, mainly government and parliamentary office workers, good food (simpler than theSeven Stars) and handy for Victoria Station.

The Craigmarloch Lodge, Cumbernauld, Scotland. Since the smoking ban came in last year, it's the only local pub with decent outside facilities for us manky smokers. Even if it's peeing down, they have a covered area with offy nice heaters and it's right next to the main pub, so ye can keep in touch wi' yer healthy mates all night!!!

My favourite pub in England is The Green Dragon, it's a 14th century pub with oak beams, open fires, great beer and fantastic food. It's located in Alderbury, near Salisbury. But now I live in the Czech Rpublic, and my favourite pub here is called Radima's, they serve only one beer Cerna Hora, translated is Black Mountain, it's based in the cellar of a Mans house, he of course is called Radim. In fact I'm about to go there now.. Cheers

In my journey, pub nutrients are frequently inedible; gray frozen chips and peas and microwaved pies that have been freeze-packed interior the final century; and of course a mendacity sign describing the nutrients as "handmade". Publicans think of their customers are mugs. yet they don't look to be. and that's the reason they are staying remote from pubs in droves.

The Hobgoblin in Reading's Broad Street.
Different ales every week, lots of little snugs to sit in, sarcastic barstaff, Led Zep on the PA sometimes and quality graffiti.

Alcatraz in Calella, Spain. The staff are great and the food reasonably priced. I love it because if I'm there it means that I am on holiday and not at work!
