I've noticed, among the different religious and theorizing groups on R&S, that some have a light-hearted attitude about their beliefs or lack thereof, and some have absolutely NO sense of humour and, in fact, see animosity towards them when none was even slightly implied.

Who is the touchiest, most volatile group here and who is the least easily offended?

Most volatile: Definitely the US Christian Right Christians, nobody gets riled up over imagined slights like them. (In response to actual intent to offend, some Muslims and Atheists can match theirs nicely.)

(I guess R&R lacks Scientologists.)

The least easily offended is impossible to tell, really. For example, I haven't noticed any Eastern Orthodox Christians get rield up yet. Is that because there aren't any about, or is that because they're all as easy to get along with as my real-world friend with Serbian roots?
Among the groups that I did definitely notice, I'd tend toward Buddhists over Wiccans.

Religion is something that people kill over. Religious people in general lack a sense of humor. On answers, the Muslims take the cake. A three thousand word copy and paste from the Koran isn't usually meant as a joke. It literally takes minutes to scroll past their posts. The most lightly humored joke is met with volumes of quotes and insults. And when any joke about Islam is posted, it is removed almost instantly. I don't know where these people are coming from, because I know some Muslims and they are nothing like that.

The ones who were beaten as children would be the ones with no sense of humour, in my opinion. Those who were loved and given affection and treated with respect would more likely have retained the basic human traits of friendliness and humour.

Quite apart from whether they have a religious outlook or not.

The spiritualists seem to be impossible to offend because they have no doubts.

Those in doubt try the hardest to prove that what they believe is right.

Seems like truth does not need to be defended.

Now this is the easiest question I've ever had to answer. Definately the fundies. Christians in general find it hard to handle jokes at their expense, but fundamentalists take the grand prize. I find self-deprecating types attractive and Christians are mostly lacking in this quality.

I refuse to generalize. I know people from varying beliefs that do have a sense of humor and I know people from varying beliefs that don't. Sense of humor is an individualistic trait not a group trait.

I think Christians and Muslim are the most sensitive. Anything that isn't gushing praise on their belief is considered a personal attack.
The Buddhists are the least offended.

Fundamentalist types of any brand are less open minded and thus see little humor in life. Generally are more ignorant.

The touchiest people are the fundamentalists. I call them "fundies" just to annoy them.
