Hunting is a cold blood murder by cowards who dress up like Rambos and use guns to kill unprotected animals, just to confirm their lacking virility. If one challenges them to fight with bare hands against an equal or a superior than them, they would piss their pants and run away.
Psychology has risolved the hunting issue: the gun is a substitute of missing or insufficient phallus....
As for excuses like "populations control" etc, I evoke the international conventions and European Parliament instructions, which are always in breach by the "controllers", who are audacious enough to support their criminal against nature activities because the have a very good backing by the weapon industry that spares no life, not even the human one.
BUT: In my country, I have the pleasure and honour to stand alone against hundrends of thousands of them, and give a Court fight, always with Justice justifying my arguements, while next day they demostrate their disrespect to Justice too...
So, yes, hunting is a crime, in so many different ways, and those who comit it are so brave to hide behind....thumbs down...

The normal arguements are Foxes need controlling anyway, which is true in some areas. The survival of the hounds depends on it, which is also true if not the best of justifications. That it helps the foxes because only the weakest get caught. This is highly unlikely and contradicts the first argument. It is the most humane way to control foxes. This is debatable. Poisoning and shooting can lead to long painful deaths, but is chasing a petrified animal around the countryside before killing it extremely quickly much better. I think the answer is yes, but the harm should be minimised. I have no objection to people stalking animals for sport as long as they are not harming the environment in the process. When the stalking is successful the question is whether or not to kill the animal or record it with a camera. There is a need to kull animals like deer which I agree with and killing for food or to control vermin seems reasonable as well. Killling just for the sake of killing or for trophys to stuff, I don't agree with.

While I'll agree hunting for pure sport is unethical, it isn't a crime. Some may argue that it should be but then I think your headed down a slippery slope. The pure fact of the matter is that the laws of nature dictate that it take life to sustain life. It doesn't matter if you go to the supermarket or hunt for your own food something is being killed somewhere (this includes plant life for you vegetarians). I see nothing wrong with enjoying putting food on the table.

Hunting is a DISGRACEFULL OUTDOORS ACTIVITY, never a sport. A sport is a noble competition which aims to test phisical and mental resistance and push the limits of a human being's body, soul, mind.
Go to kill other creatures for fun, to feel greater, to feel a big man, to feel you are more of a 'macho', cannot be called a sport. As an athlete I would never tollerate such a mistake. Neither as a thinking human being.
Bye.

Hunting is something that man has done since before we climbed out of the trees and into the caves.
These so-called Nature lovers who think hunting is murder have no knowledge and love of nature beyond what they see on TV.
Hunting is the most natural thing that people can do. Yes, it can be a sport, but it's also a way to harvest Nature's bounty to feed the family and the neighbors as well. It's a way of life and it's one of the most honest and human of endeavors.

I think that a person who kills an animal for sport does not have the right to call man. It is a crime to kill for sport, an excuse does not exist to do it...
He must not feel importing when goes back to home with a killed prey, because he is a loser for what has done...
It is not a trophy, but it is his shame.

Hunting is not "A Sport" like basketball or baseball...it "IS Sport"
Sportsmanlike hunting is very good for the environment, both for the animals that will overpopulate (and suffer) without it AND for the people who eat what they hunt.
We are careful to not take too many does from our land, we do not shoot immature deer of either sex OR does with fawns,
and we use SPORTSMAN-LIKE conduct.
We do not use fully-automatic weapons, as some idjit posted in an answer here.
We eat every animal we kill. Well, except for a couple of wildcats that we mounted... : )
I have to wonder about people who eat meat but deplore hunting.
I suppose you feel it is kinder, gentler, to raise animals in stifling conditions by taking their freedom from them, keeping them in pens their whole lives -- pumping them full of steroids until the day you lead them into a chute and fire a steel rod into their brains, right between the eyes, so they can be "Processed" and sent to your local supermarket.
Animals were God-given for our nourishment.
If you eat anything that has a face, at least accept the fact that you are doing so and dont believe that because you arent doing the work yourself that you are better than those of us who do.
Hunting is great sport, as long as you follow the rules established for your area and respect the land that provides for your healthy existence.

i am hunter and i would have to say yes to you question as a am sure many people might disagree with me but for one thing i haven't meet any one who hunts because their starving or to feed their family yes it does help a lot to take a deer down but today people hunt because they like to not out of necessity and their a market out their that makes millions because you see their commercials on TV selling the newest cammo or something other i don't disagree with people who hunt for a sport i am one of them but still don't like to see someone who hunts just to shoot something and leave it lay i personally believe that if some one kills a animal they should use it or all ready have plans to give it to some one who will take it some states have hunters for the hungry program that take the meat to people who need it

"Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so too*".... I suppose you are also in favor of Zoo's*. That is real cruelty*. Hunting edible game in the wild is not for everyone but we who do realize that it is a renewable resource and meant to be harvested for food and appreciate, respect and revere the animals that we harvest*... Sincerely Hunter, Target Shooter, Sportsman, Fisherman*. No person needs to feel ashamed for participating in hunting either you enjoy the sport or you don't*...

I'm sure I would call it a sport, but points are awarded for game size, for instance. I do think it is a perfectly acceptable pasttime, and I've known people who would have gone hungry large parts of the year without hunting. I don't personally think "trophy" hunting is wrong, in and of itself, because many animals that are inedible (or at least their meat isn't desirable) still need their population controlled. Take wolves for instance. Their fur isn't worth much, they aren't good eating, but their numbers are such that they pose a danger to humans and livestock in Alaska.
