Make sure you are flossing as well and also brushing your tongue (is the most effective way of getting rid of bad breath). A good antibacterial mouthwash should help as well. If this doesn't help (and your breath is really foul), go see your dentist because you could have a condition that requires treatment.
p.s.: I also usually use toothpaste when brushing my tongue--it's not necesary to--but it helps add a minty scent to my tongue.

First of all, keep your stomach clean always. That means not to keep it empty. You should go motion regularly (once or twice in a day) For this, you should eat promptly and drink atleast 3 lits of water everyday. It will make motion freely. So your first problem is over.
Then, you should clean your tongue too at the time brushing by using tongue cleaner. B'coz tongue is the main cause for decade and bad smell. Whenever you failed to go motion, that will react only through your tongue and mouth. Brush morning and night. So follow these tips to avoid your problem.

A good mouthwash- like Dentyl PH or something similar.
Also, when you have brushed your teeth, brush them again with a childs toothbrush. It's so gentle you can go over where your gums are and maybe this is where you are leaving bits of plaque behind?
Try brushing your tongue too.
Maybe one time, after you brushed, chew a "DISCLOSING TABLET" then spit out. This will show you how clean your teeth really are and if there's an area you are missing?

Just try gentle massaging the gums before and after the brushing, the tooth brush can only remove the food sticking near the teeth, but the health of the teeth lies in the health of the gums, if these are not healthy then gap between the teeth will appear food particles will lodge their and when these decay , you have bad breath.
regular gargling with Luke warm water mixed with lime and salt will help you get rid of the problem.
alternately you may get some good gum paint and use it before you go to bed. please don't gargle after its use.

Floss, Mouthwash etc.
There are also pills that suppress the bacteria that cause bad breath.
Aside from just fighting the bad breath you might consult a doctor. Halitosis can be a symptom of more serious diseases.

I think maybe a mouthwash, or breath mints might do the trick.
If that doesn't do the trick try a trip to the dentist as a last resort.
