At work the pages were getting stuck on the glass on the copier so I used some vaseline I had in my purse to keep them from getting stuck now they don't stick but the copies don't always come out right.

wipe the glass with a lint free cloth and 97-100 % isopropal alcohol (rubbing alcohol from walgreens). the alcohol will desolve the vaseline and also leave no streaks if properly cleaned. also clean the underside of the lid. dried ink on the underside of the lid could be causing the paper to stick

Do NOT use WD-40 or Vaseline. These are NOT neutral substances. They may appear to solve the problem but they WILL RUIN the glass! How? Most copiers are not glass but PLASTIC. It will start the plasticized glass to mar and fog up.

Also you must NEVER TILT UP the copier. Why? Because it will disturb the distribution of toner/starter/developer causing uneven density across the copies/prints. Too light or too dark front to rear. Also it will cause units that use oil to dry up the hot exit rollers causing jamming because of the uneven distribution of oil. Also the copies are NOT supposed to slide off the glass to the front edge. You only have to use a rotating sliding motion and ALL documents come right off. DO NOT try and pull up. Laws of physics will cause the stiction/suction value to be so high between the glass and the original that it will resist your removal of the original.

We had that mysterious sticky-spot copier glass issue at our work.

To solve the problem, we put a very thin layer of slippery silicon lube on the glass, and six drink coasters under each of the rear wheels closest the wall, to tilt the whole copier slightly forward.
Now the glass stays super-clean.

Yay !!

Now, everyone just slips straight off the front. !
