What is the best armies in the world?

I have heard ridiculous things like the Chinese army or the Turkish army or maybe the Isreali army.But I have to say the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard is the Swiss army being the best army in the world!Guys I think the best armies in the world are......

The British Army(Always have been good)
The U.S army(Always have been good)
Japaneese Army(They're pretty good)
Russian Army(They're not that good,very poor infact)

Thats who I think is the best, but countries like China and India only have large amounts of men,they don't have any good weapons,no good fighting technics.All those large amounts of men could be easily dealt with,with the help of a bomb.

So who do you think?

I would say the UK. They haven't lost a war in hundreds of years. They have some of the best weapons and equipment in the world. They also have one of the best secret service networks in the world as well as the SAS, the worlds best

Well it depends the US has always had a great Army. The men have discipline and are well trained and equipped along with advanced technology to help out. Also they have a good deal of men more then most.

The British I think are just as savvy as the US Army but lack the some technology. But tech isn't every thing right? A few well ironed well disciplined men can change a battle in their country's favor.

Japans army is alright but has not really had any experience in any war for a while.

Russian army are tough but yes not well equipped.

China doesn't even have enough guns to go around and most don't even know how to hold one.

(Not mentioned) Israel is not mentioned but they have been fighting for decades constantly so they are very well experienced.

Here's my rating

1. US - because they have a lot of well made troops.

2. Israel - just below US cause yes they have very well experienced soldiers but do not have enough men.

3. Britain

4. Russia
5. Japan
6. China
7 India

God, the American army sucks.
Australia is the best, because we train more troops in less time and better training.
look at the casualties in Iraq
Americans:1000+
Australians:around 3 (not including SAS of course)

in the Vietnam war the Americans used to walk along roads and get ambushed like idiots, the Australians walked through the jungle to evade ambush and mines.

The American army has never been good and never will unless they stop training like they do (yes there are exceptions).


The German army during WWII was probably the best,
they were nearly always outnumbered and had losses not reflecting being outnumbered.

I don't have anything against the American troops, they are brave soldiers that are currently sent out for a crappy cause, my opinion is that they are just as smart as any other army, but the way they are taught and trained is not efficient.


BTW
tech doesn't mean jack unless its something major like night vision, the M1 Abrams is a fuel hungry, inefficient heavy piece of machinery, that needs to be made to use less fuel. I don't know why our armed forces are being equipped with them.
They may be good, but when you can't get fuel to them they are stuffed, just like The German Tiger.

Turkish Army, not only it is modern but also it has the man power. Turkish soldiers are extremely courageous, it's a cultural thing. There's a famous saying in Turkey, "Every Turk is born is a soldier" So you can imagine the extent of importance given to the military.

I'd put Chinese army to second place. Israelis are no good despite the fact that they spend 95 % of their budget to defense they still haven't managed to wipe out poor Arab civilians.

Just for your information israel would suffer from us if the US don't support them !!! we'll kick they're butt and no the israeli army is not courage at all they just have powerful tank an tank what a big problem a B7 or 2 would take it down
but i think that the US army cant handle what's goin on in IRAQ and theyre defeated but still they have the most up to dat technology ... I think the russian army is the most powerful right now!

Korea is the best if they unite as one korea.
US army have a good weapon and skill.Green Beret and Delta Force the most skilled unit.

Gurkha the fearless unit.

SAS from british army.

Royal Regiment of Ranger,PASKAL,PASKAU from Malaysian Army

Iranian Revolution Army

China Red Army - very skilled at martial art

Heyl Raglim,Tzahal from israel unit

Russian Secret Army-Never used before on any conflict zone.

Currently, the US Military is the most capable and most well rounded to handle any situation.

Other militaries may be better in specific areas, but the US military has both the know-how and ability to do all.

The British military is good also, they have the same know how as the US, but not the capability mainly due to their size.

Canada could argue that they are the best of the Peace-Keepers with their military, but again, their size is even smaller then the UK.

Russians were good at nuclear, biological and chemical warfare, but outside that not much else. Mainly because they don't allow their jr. officers the ability to make decisions and NCOs are nothing in the their military but privates that stayed longer.

Japan has never really left Japan, so its hard to guage.

Israel is the bet at counter terrorist operations due to they have been doing it for decades now.

The Israeli army is amazing. In 1948, while the Jewish people were still recovering from the Holocaust, the Arab armies all simultaneously attacked the new state of Israel - and the Israelis managed to hold their own. Partly, because the Arabs were disorganised, but also because the Israelis are courageous and united in their desire to survive.

The Israeli army is one of the smallest, but no doubt, it is amazing.

I thought the Japanese were not allowed an army ever since the second world war. Do they have one? Am I uninformed?
And what about Canada's army. We play war games with the US and kick their butts every time.
