I'm 17 and I work at Subway in Dunedin. You'd be on $9.50 an hour, $7.50 after tax. Minimum wage is $9 for under 18s. You'd probably earn just above minimum wage. Subway is hard work by the way!

I'm not sure if you could work at Subway just for the holidays. You'd have to talk to the manager. I suggest you drop off a CV and a cover letter saying that you are really keen to work but just in the holidays. They may say no because they'll have to train you up and etc. But you never know.

Well basically at Subway, if you're not serving then you have to clean or prep food. You have to learn the serving amounts, eg. 8 pieces of tomatos in a foot long etc. it seems really hard at first but then you get the hang of it. You have to sweep, mop and clean the whole shop. Top up the food out the front. You have to prep food so that means like putting the right amount of chicken pieces or whatever in the trays or cutting cucumbers (we have a slicer). Or doing the dishes, but basically they work you hard. You don't get many breaks you just have to keep busy.

You don't get tips and customers can be very rude.

according to what state you live in.. basically its minimum wage...
Here its 6.50 an hour (yay, minimum wage went up here a dollar just this year!)
Which is not much, but some of them gives raises and promotions.. I know the subway here does after you have been in the location for a few months.. but you're only looking for a job for 2 weeks.

Minimum wage at best. Hey I would suggest to start your own business and do not get caught up in the job mentality.

dtravel is correct...min. wage. Wait people make considerably less, $2.50/hr + tips, but because of your age you would probably only be able to buss tables for very little money and a percentage of wait staff tips (10%).

good luck
