can a house be haunted if nobody died there?

My house isn't very old but not brand new (probably about 60 years old) I often wonder if you can get spirits just "passing through" even though they didn't die in the house, or around the area. I hear bangs keep seeing shapes in one corner of my room near the mirror. probably just my imagination.

yes this is possible, spirits often return to places where they were happy, so they don't have to have died there.

You might be a ghost sensitive. It runs in my family quite strongly. A house can be built on a place where a tragedy occurred. How do you know for certain that no one died in the house? Did you check the history? Someone could have been murdered there and no one knows about it except the killer and the victim (s).

I moved into a house that was barely 50 years old and my daughter walked into the front bedroom and called me in and when I walked in I felt what she felt. It was ice cold although it was about 95 degrees outside. We knew that the house was occupied. The spirit manifested itself first by knocking a wall mirror down TWICE and cracking the case of the movie The Exorcist. I'd even moved it to the other side of the room after it had fallen the first time just to make sure and true enough it fell that second time. I threw away the tape and the mirror did not fall again. Then there was the scent of perfume that would waft around me at different times during the day. Things like that. So one night when the landlord had come around I asked him if anyone had died in the house and he looked at me like I was crazy and said no but the lady who'd lived here before had a heart attack and died on the sidewalk and they brought her inside. She'd lived in the house for years. He asked me why I wanted to know and so I told him the house was haunted and he said no it isn't. I don't have to argue with people who don't want to believe or don't want to know. I just let it go. I moved out of the house when my lease was up. I have several stories like this but this isn't the place for them.

Yea, if ghosts exist they can be of people who didn't die in the house but probably had a connection with the house or area when they were alive. Sometimes though houses can be built on areas that have a naturally high level of electro magnetic radiation. This can cause people to see things and hear things that are not there and believe there is a presence about them. This could be the scientific explanation for what you are experiencing. If you are aware of this now perhaps you can ignore what you are feeling about the house and try to get back to normal. Ghosts probably don't exist.

Haunted....by WHAT?
It is not anything left over when a person dies. Because the Bible scrubs that idea.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

We do see and hear things, but they are not ghosts...they are demons.
(Matthew 8:28-33) When he got to the other side, into the country of the Gad·a·renes′, there met him two demon-possessed men coming out from among the memorial tombs, unusually fierce, so that nobody had the courage to pass by on that road. 29 And, look! they screamed, saying: “What have we to do with you, Son of God? "Haunts" and "ghosts" are not the spirits or souls of dead people.

They are demon spirits impersonation dead people or trying to get the living to believe lies.

The area where the house is built could have been an area associated with some sort of paganism. Such activities invite demons around and they stay even long after the activities have ceased.

I have been seeing all kinds of things since i was tiny. Wherever i live, and i've lived in a lot of places, i still see the same things. Perhaps some people are actually haunted rather than a house etc. Or, if there IS something where you live it could be that this place had happy memories.

You see, I do not think if a person dies in a house or even murdered then the house can be haunted. Houses are usually haunted when left with no body living in them for a while, this is when (we call them Jinns) haunt it, and sometimes do not get out.

Get a dog seriously, they are highley sensitive to that kind of stuff.
If they are satisfied with the place theres nothing wrong, as they have higher perception much more than humans when
it comes to hearing and smelling.
I had the same problem at my house didnt feel comfortable, about crazy noises and stuff come to find out he was after a band
of rats in the attic.
Got them removed and he ran off all the stray cats and posseums outside.

Possible, as spirits or ghosts like you mentioned could just pass by or they (the spirits) decide to become the residents of the said house.

Spirits don't 'pass through' - there are no ghosts - no hauntings - people fabricate stories to make them interesting - just like the media do every day.

okay tommy44432 ghosts DO exist! i have the exact same problem 3 year old house, no one has ever died in it, but i keep seeing things, doors close. maybe some one did satanic worshiping in that room?
