The neurological connections in your brain which are tethered together are very fragile, and can be dislodged or torn free easily. What can also happen, is if a connection is broken and reattachs itself to a different strand, it can rewire your brain making it difficult or impossible to do normal functions, like speaking, walking, hearing, seeing, and just about anything else you take for granted. This can also include the beating of your heart and the stressing of other muscles in your torso, like lungs.
Please drink in moderation, and say "thank you but no thank you" to drugs.

Was wondering the same thing myself. I think your prefrontal cortex shrinks -- the part that controls impulse functioning. Also, it means you are not getting enough thiamine to run some TCP rxns in your neurons so you can get crazy and combative. I think you can recover from this though. But it also means you are not enjoying drinking quite as much as before!

I went to school with some very intelligent boys as a child and now, the ones who turned to heavy drink are mostly dead or babbling idiots with terrible looking faces!

you're constantly losing brain cells by abusing alcohol.
one of these days you'll fall down and hit your head and be fitted for a casket if you're not careful.
