Is there any linux live cds that will work on a ps2? I know there was a version of linux for ps2 that required a hard drive, but they don't sell the kit in the US anymore

I did some searching for them, and the news is not good.

There seems to be a sort of a "quadruple-whammy" that would discourage the existence of LiveCDs for the Playstation 2:

1. The PS2 cannot (or rather, will not) boot from a burned CD/DVD. A special disc from Sony is required to do this. It may be possible with a "soft mod", but I don't know for sure.
2. There are few Linux distributions ported to the type of CPU that the PS2 runs on, a "MIPS" processor.
3. The PS2 has only 32 MB of RAM, which would not make it a very inviting platform for a desktop OS.
4. Everyone seems more interested in working on the PS3, almost completely ignoring the PS2.
