a latina with light skin and i don't get tanned, I get burned. My boyfriend is a dark latino who (we just found out) does get burned, I guess, since he was peeling from his bald head. lol. I just want to be out of darkness when it comes to this since I know for a fact that black people age very well. I just want to know if they are also safe from the sun.

I learned in biology class, from my teacher whose husband is african american, that black people can get skin cancer and that the sun doesn't know what color you are. She was yelling at this girl for going tanning,lol... HOWEVER, black people have more pigmentation in there skin which can help protect it from burning, but they should still use sunscreen to block the uv rays.

I am white, but I've asked black friends this question before and yes they can. When they tan, they sort of get a bronze tint, even if very dark, but if they stay out too long they can get sore and a little red. Not like us light people though!
