I'm assuming this is some sort of white fish such as cod or sole. I like to keep it simple - lime juice or thin lime slices and a very light sprinkle of coarse salt and a bit of fresh ground white peppercorns (black peppercorns are OK too) and maybe a sprinkle of white sesame seeds. I avoid lemon on white fish as it obscures the delicate flavor of the fish. For red salmon I bake wrapped in foil with lime slices, mandarin orange slices (substitute tangerines or tangelos) and a light touch of tarragon - serve with a light sprinkle of coarse salt and fresh ground pepper. For tuna I brush with with soy sauce that is diluted with water 1 to 1, generously sprinkle w/ sesame seeds add a few thin lemon slices then wrap in foil and bake and serve w/ crackers such as Waverly Wafers.
I won't say this is the best way because personal tastes vary considerably from person to person. Others will have different ideas that are also valid.

Since you aren't specific I will treat it as a white fish - you can broil with lemon pepper and butter for 2 minutes each side or bake with Old Bay for 5 minutes each side , simply marinade for 30 minutes in French or Italian dressing and toss in a grill for 2 minutes each side (this also works for baking and broiling at the times noted above). Then once cooked serve with rice and a crisp green salad. Enjoy!

what kind of fish?
white fish- try a cajun spice mix, then sear it for a moist fillet.
salmon-grill it then finish with a lemon dill butter
just remember to cook it to medium so it is moist, and always cook the presentation side first so it looks good.

If its a fresh fillet try it raw. Its called sashimi in Japanese just slice them up and dip them in shoyu (soy sauce). Or in Hawaii we dice the fish in to cubes add some shoyu, sesame seed oil, Green onion and toss like a salad. You can also throw in any variety of your favorite ingredients its called poke.

I like it broiled with either EVOO and herbs or garlic and lemon. It's really quick, healthy and tasty : )
