since the hen was once an egg i would have to say the egg

I have empirical data to prove that it was the egg.

I drew a line in the sand about 20 feet away and I first threw an egg followed by the hen. In each of my 100 tests, the egg crossed the finish line and the hen fell short.

The sad part is that the eggs never survived the experiment and the hens were mad at me.

(Since this was posted in JOKES AND RIDDLES, I did not think that you were looking for a religious answer.)

It all depends on your perspective. If you believe that God created all animal life at once, then the hen came first. If you believe that dinosaurs evolved into birds, then the creature that produced the egg must have been exactly one evolutionary stage prior to the existence of modern poultry, and therefore produced the first 'hen' from an egg. From this perspective, the egg came first, because the thing that laid it was very slightly different from a hen, but its offspring had the proper DNA mutation to become one, and natural selection allowed these new creatures to survive.

I'm the first one to answer!! ALRIGHT!! Anyways the chicken came first (or hen, same thing). Because God created the animals first. Not the fetuses of animals. People will say the egg came first because you eat eggs in the morning and chicken at night. Therefore, the egg came first. NO!!!! (That last couple of sentences was sarcasm).

In conclusion, the chicken came first.

First the hen. By parthenogenesis or apomixis.

How would you illustrate the difference between involvement and commitment? Ham and eggs. The chicken is involved; the pig is committed.
