My favorite book IS the Bible.
If you make me pick one book out of all that, my head will explode.

I like the four accounts of Jesus: Matthew, Mark, Luke (including Acts), and John. A sample of my favorites is John 8:2-11 and John 14:1-30.
Having said that, the bible is the sole authority and it interrupts itself. To do that, all the books are necessary.

Job.
Because it teaches that when it comes right down to it, God can do anything He wants to anyone for any reason or no reason at all, and He doesn't need to explain anything to anyone.
In a way, Job negates the rest of the Bible. As Roman Catholics believe, people enter Heaven ONLY by God's grace. Faith and works have no ultimate bearing.
For all we know, Mother Teresa is burning in Hell, while Hitler resides in Heavenly bliss.

The Book of Job. The fact that Job asks a question of God and actually gets an answer straight from Him. (Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone else that that happens to. Not such a detailed answer, anyway.) And that answer blows me away every time I read it...

Psalms. I get peace and wisdom from Psalms. I hear how King David grieved over his mistakes and see the grace of God in forgiving David as he repented with deep sorrow. It gives me hope because I have failed many times in my marriage, as a father, and have repented and found this same grace.

John........because it is the New Testament about the time of Jesus........his life, his death on the cross, His taking away my sins, His obedience, His humbleness and He is resurrected!
Thank you Jesus for dying for me on the cross so that I may have salvation and dwell with you in Heaven eternally. I love you sweet Jesus! + You saved me.
