Im getting married in November and want to start getting pedicures, only thing is my toenail on my big toe is yellow. i did research and found out they turn yellow from nail polish, and my toenails are constantly polished and have been for probably 2 years or so.

exactly how long would i have to leave polish off before they turn normal? or is there anything i can put on them to clear the yellow up faster?

i dont want to walk in the nail salon looking like i got some fungus toes or something!

thanks!

Soak them in lemon juice for about 30 minutes.

It will take until the nail grows out. However, it isn't the nail polish that causes the nail to turn yellow, at least not exactly. It is the pigment in the polishes that leave discolored nails under them. The best thing you can do to keep it from happening is to make sure that you always use a base coat, especially under any hugh pigment colors such as reds, blacks, etc.

Go into your local chemist and have a look around the nails section - there is some stuff out there for whitening nails after using dark polish! It fizzes in the water - blowed if I can remember what its called though! Might be in the artifical nails area too!

yeah you don't wanna walk in with fungus. Is that particular nail dry and peels? Honestly I'd go buy some fungal medicine and put it on with no polish for a month or 2. I've never heard of nails getting yellow from polish...Polish can stain but doesn't stain yellow.. It will take your whole nail to grow out.
