im hoping the tricep is the upper arm, otherwise im gonna look like a dumbass answering this, but on the off chance that im right and it is the upper arm, its going to hurt. but thats a given considering youre being poked tons of times with a needle. but there is also a reason the upper arm is a popular place to get a tattoo. because its on of the less painful places. so yeah its gonna hurt, but in the grand scheme of tattooing, its not going to hurt THAT bad.

it depends man tribal and regular both hurt but tribal hurts a lot more no if its your first one go with a regular type on your upper arm
