Being popular is being well liked. Don't be a ***** like all these cheerleader girls in American movies (Im in australia) you can be 'hot' (which I would call pretty) by letting your personality shine through, make lots of friends by being kind and having a good sense of humor. If by hot you mean that you want boys to like you this can happen regardless of if you are the sterotypical hot or not! I was popular in highschool by definition of I had a lot of friends a lot of personality and people liked me because I was nice and treated everybody with respect, guys would like me because I was flirtatious and funny and nice not to mention attainable by not being so snobby that no-one stood a chance! Being popular is not whats important, being happy is, so be yourself and allow others to see you for who you really are. If your heart is in the right place you will be popular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

be the jock! play sports and be athletic (oh and be good at the sport...), always look/be/feel fresh and clean at all times. develope a swagger like you know you're the **** lol be unique when you dress, be social and outgoing. and although people think its cool to dust off school and not care about it..deep down chicks all love a smart guy so hit the books and be the nerd as well! even when the highschool days are over and you aren't hot and popular anymore you still need those books!
best years of your life, just enjoy them.

hmmm...um, well, i can't really give you any tips on that subject. Especially the "hot" part. I think you have to dress slutty if you want to make people think your hot. and please that take the part of my advise. But I can tell you this. Just be yourself. Being popular, hot, best dressed or whatever isn't going to matter in 5 or 10 years. It's just a title that no one is going to care about later on. If you really want to show people that you are a "big deal", then you just have to be yourself. Be friendly to EVERYONE. Whether you hate them or not. Sure your probably thinking...good guys finish last. But at the end it will be well deserving and rewarding.

why do u want to be popular? If you have good friends and a halfway decent life whats it matter? all you have to do is be yourself and if the "popular" kids dont like it then their obviously not very good friends if they dont accept you for who you really are. Dont give in to peer preasure either. that doesnt make u cool... unless thats just ur thing or somthing but its still not cool. Popularity usually comes by if ur in alot of school activities like sports or clubs.. get involved a little more and you'll make loads of new friends.

Being hot is opinionated. To some people you're hot, to others... You're not. You can change your looks, but you can't please everyone!
On the other hand, there are a few degrees of being called popular. Popularity is knowing a lot of people... So to be popular, make a lot of friends and treat them well enough to stay friends with them... And then you're popular.

Highschool isn't about being popular, it's about finding what you want to do for the rest of your life, doing good in classes so you can get into a decent education and then get a good career.

If girl: dress nice and cute but not slutty because you won't be popular just a slut. Be open with everyone. Talk to anyone. don't be snotty, make everyone like you by trying to relate to all clicks.
If boy: Don't carry a gameboy, PSP, Nintendo DS or any other game system around with you. Don't wear t-shirts with gay cartoons on them. Hang with the cool crowd. put gel in hair. dress decent not like you just came out of a dumpster, shower daily. Shape your facial hair if you have any to look nice. Don't let it overgrow.

Get a complete make over and get involved in things such as clubs and drama! Drama got me popular!

you're born like that
you have to be : thin, have designer bags and shoes and clothes. you have to know how to fight back if someone calls you something but not like a fist fight or something. things like that but be happy with who you are. you dont need to be popular to be happy.
im in the popular group in school but i swear theres alot of drama!
