From the various heresy wars of the 5th and 6th Centuries to the various internal crusades against preceived hersies [including the Inquistion] to the Religious Wars of the Reformation to the slaughter in the old Yugoslavia between Catholic Croats and Orthodox Serbs, Christian Wars against Christians have been especially bloody and evil. Why? If Christianity is the religion of love, why all the hate?

Can you name one class of people that has not warred among themselves since the beginning of time?
However it is not the one who calls himself a Christian who is Christian; but the one whom God calls a Christian.
Jesus said "By this shall all men know you are MY disciples, if you have love one for another."
John 13:35

Consequently, if they do not have love one for another, they are not Christ's disciples, regardless of what they call themselves.

There are social studies which talk about how war is deeply inrooted into human nature. Wars have existed ever since mankind. Wars do have magic inside, as much as destructive as they appear on the surface.

Wars between other civilizations have been bloody as well. The Japanese, Chinese, Indians, etc... Perhaps you are just more focused on Christianity.

The Catholic Christianity has its center in the Vatican. We all know about the evil involvement of the Vatican during (and after) WW2, or we don't? Vatican is one thing and spirituality another. Love is above Religion. Religion teaches it and may embrase it, but not to the fullest.

The slaughter between Croats and Serbs has to do more with historical factors than religious, as we have excluded as religious the role of the Vatican against Yugoslav Communism and Serb Orthodox. I could explain you from where the hatred comes in this case, but that would be another theme.

You have ask the hardest question of all and the answer has nothing to do with being a Christian. People have fought for centuries in the name of religion for first one thing and then another. The root of the battle is usually land, dominance, political gain, fortune, resources. All wars that have been fought in the name of religion have been to gain power in one way or another even if the men fighting them do not realize it and will never see any gain from it.

I've been studying the history of The Sabbath vs. Sunday. I confess gladly that I am a child of God, and His Son Lord Jesus Christ; therefore I am a Christian. However, when there is more than one involved, there is differences. One cannot be at war with oneself? We can be confused but will eventually come to a conclusion which seems to suit our needs, and becomes acceptable doctrine in our own hearts and minds. But the next fellow will have a completely different opinion.

I don't believe that Christians hate each other; but then again we are human and sinful; but some seem to think that they can worship on Saturday and be correct and want to war against those who worship on Sunday. One can accept that the Holy Roman Catholic Church can change doctrine within the Church; while others refuse to accept anything other than what is written in the Scriptures.

While, in my opinion, those people who create war for selfish gain or create war because they want to worship on Saturday instead of Sunday; are not true Christians. People tend to take certain parts of the Holy Bible as literal; while others will fight with you because they believe it to be non-literal or simply spiritual. The history of the Christian faith is horrible and bloody. I am not proud of our history and I will not try to defend it in any way. It eventually must come down to how one feels within. I believe the Holy Bible to be the Word of God. I believe it tells me exactly how to live my life. I believe Jesus made it very clear in the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ how it would all go down in history. I have prepared myself accordingly; however, if I expect you to believe exactly as I do we will eventually come into some sort of conflict.

It is the sinful pride of man/woman who cause war. Not God or Jesus or Christianity. Until such time as each individual human being comes to the realization that they must surrender all to Jesus and love one another, as He commanded; there will always be war. I truly don't think Christians are any different than any other religion and surely not the only one to war.

The main mistake we all make is with regard to who is a Christian. A Christian is as a Christian does: by their deeds they are known. If therefore somebody describes him/herself as a Christian and goes about hating and fighting a fellow human being, that person cannot be a Christian. Thou shalt not kill! We are enjoined by the Master to love our enemies, and not blow them up or kill or destroy them. Those perpetrating such atrocities cannot be Christians -whether they call themselves Christian or not. By our deed we are known. The mere fact I call myself the queen of England does not make me the queen of England. Either we are Christians or we are not. I must add that there is no good or bad Christian: either we are or we are not!

Religion at its root is about power and wealth.
Did you ever come across a church that didn't ask for money?
