The most common misconception within the young adult age group is that a 'lump' is nothing to be concerned about . . because you feel good and you cannot imagine that cancer has no symptoms. No one here can tell you whether this is a malignant or benign tumor . . but anything that is 2cm should definitely be checked by a doctor.

The lump could also be a Sebaceous cyst which is a little hair follicle sac that has stretched out and is filled with a cheesy like gunk. It is very similar to a pimple only much larger. These can cause problems when they become infected, so you should keep a close watch on it. These types of cysts are found on the face, neck, and trunk and are generally painless and can be pushed around. But since no one here can see what this is than you need a physical examination to rule out cancer. If the doctor is at all suspicious he may take a biopsy of the lump or just completely remove it.

Best of luck.

yeah that doesn't sound good.
i've got something similar, i've had it for 2 and a half yeras now, its a lump that feels like a big zit on my back and when i have a look in the mirror its a purpley/black colour and its getting bigger every year but the thing its not a circle its more like a blotch, maybe i shoud see a doctor, i haope you're ok and that what you have isn't cancer because i may have melanoma - damn beach.

The best way to guarantee lumpless mashed potato is to purchase a potato riser from a cookery shop. Another way you can make sure that the potato is lump free is to pass it through a sieve and add butter, cream and seasoning.

It is probably nothing but if it is something it could be cancer. You need to see a doctor immediately. My nephew had a melanoma on his shoulder in his 20's.

Like I said, it is probably nothing. But if you wait and it is cancer, it could be too late. What are you waiting for, go see a doctor!

You might have already been to the doc but...I have similar bumps and the dermotologist tells me they are totally B9. The name escapes me and the name is unusual. he says they are a skin reaction to a bug bite. I have had a few since my 20s. I have had several removed...always B9.

Sounds dangerous, you should cut it out immediately.

Its probably nothing, probably just a knot on your back
