To keep them from getting all "crazy glue" like -- you need to heat them gently. In the microwave, no more than 10 sec at a time -- and you may want to add a little corn syrup to keep them smooth.

Melt a pat of butter or margarine in a pan, then add the marshmallows and stir constantly over low heat.
