im in love with a guy i met over the net(i wasnt looking to, just kinda happened) and he has bought me a ticket to come see him this christmas break...not for sex or anything but just to see if we are really in love. Anyways most you are thinking "Duh...its dangerous" I know that so please dont give me the mop around. hes american and im canadian..and he cant come see me because i share an apartment with my brother....should i do it...mature answers only pliz and thnx :)

ive known him for a year and a half and we speak on the phone almost like everyday i know this sounds crazy but yeah i am in love with him, i dont if its the mystery or the way he treats (like no other guy ive dated) or the person he is...or led me to believe he is..but i know i love him

He may be a perfectly nice guy or he may be a psycho. You really don't know. Do you have a back-up plan in case you don't like him? Talking to someone on the Internet and being with someone in person are two different things. How can you truly be in love with someone you haven't actually met?

Hmm well do you know anyone else out here in that area where you are suppose to meet him. Get your own hotel room at the Holidy Inn or something. Stay in public view. This is very risky. Be careful. What you could do is have someone call you every 4 hours to make sure you are alright. If for some reason you don't answer or return their phone call with in a certain time frame, then they can have hotel security come and check up on you to make sure you are ok. That;s the only thing I can think of.

how can you be in love with someone you have never been out with, someone you've never seen , never been around and only talked to ???? I can't see it happening, falling inlove with someone just by chating with online??? Just know this____ WHen you see him in person and really get to know him some He may not be who you thought he would be !!! Besides it takes years to get to know a person !!! You never know anyone until you have been with them for a long time and still after that you still may not really know them !! Cause you never know what they are doing when your not around to watch ?? People can put on an act , they act to be someone they think you will like and they pretend to be someone else and not really be thereself !!! They act to get you and then they will change !! You should date a guy for a least 2 yrs in order to get to know him because they can act ( pretend to be good) for that long !! Most can't act more then 2 yrs but it can happen!! also hope your old enough to make that decisoin about going to meet him?? Its not SAFE Nowdays!! At least take someone with you , for the fun or for the ride !! you never know what could happen?? !! you may need a friend !!!

Yes. I am in a long distance relantionship, it didn't start over the web though. Try and make the most of what you can. If he sent you a ticket, he really wants to see you. Make sure someone knows where you are at all times, and set up a time frame to call your brother so that way he won't get worried. There are people out there who could want to hurt you, so just be careful.

Well seeing you don't care that it's dangerous then go. I myself would want to talk on the phone to someone in his Family first just to make sure he's who he says he is. Also, why can't he come see you ? Find him a cheap motel to stay in. I think asking a girl to come see him is asking a lot. If he loves you he wouldn't put you in this situation. This is very risky for you. Keep in mind that Even a nut case knows how to lure you in. Would you fly out to see someone in another country if he said to you "I have no interest in you I just want you to come out so i can Kill you but i'll pay for your ticket to get you here" of course you wouldn't go!! But if the same nut case says "I love you so much and I have to see you will you come see me if I buy you a ticket, please I need to see you" would you go? I would think this out big time your life is to precious to take such a big risk. If he really wants to see you have him fly out to see you and make sure you have him meet your friends or Family. By the way, ask him to show you his drivers license and see if he is who he says he is. Maybe you should go but be careful meet him at some place public first and get to know him in person or better yet take a friend. Make sure you stay somewhere different from him just to be on the safe side as well.

Make sure you meet for the first time in a public place that is crowded, like a mall or restaurant. It would be a good idea to bring a friend along and ask him to do the same. As long as you make smart decisions about the first meet, there is no reason not to meet someone you have a connection with. Please just be smart.

Hey, if you are really wanting to meet this guy, travel to see him and bring a friend. Don't stay with him at his house, get a hotel room with your friend. Don't give him your hotel room information, and tell him that you will meet him at a certain place. Obviously, you know about some of the dangers, so proceed with caution, and who knows, maybe this is your knight in shining armour! Good Luck to you, and be careful, and have a good time!

I think if you feel safe then go for it. Love is what I've been looking for my whole life and a great story having a great ending is well worth it. Just feel safe though. Make all your own arrangements so that you have an escape route. You are a girl and we tend to be naive at times.

Have enough money to stay at a hotel if you don't have family let a couple of close friends know where you are and the day you go meet him face to face let them know and call them within 10 minutes if they don't get a call to call you back no response call the cops.
