Yes..that side effect can come from the chemo itself or other meds the patient is on. It also could be the cancer depending on where its located at. Be sure and talk to the doc before the problem becomes more severe. Its so important to keep a healthy diet right now so if eating is becoming an issue...get it checked out as soon as possible. Chemo affects the mucous membranes throughout the body and can make swallowing difficult. I found that soups, gravies, baked potatoes with lots of sour cream and or butter, or pasta were easier to eat, even if in small quantities.
Many people try to focus on eating healthy while going through chemo, my experience was as long as I could eat something I didn't worry about how much fat, sodium or starch I was eating.

It is quite possible. When having radiation and chemo done several years ago for lung cancer, my throat got burned and I had difficulty swallowing things, even drinking water was a problem.
