LOL... Probably tapeworms dont worry too much. They get tapes from eating a flea or eating rodents and those are the only 2 ways of getting them. Take her to the vet and get her dewormed, over the counter dewormings really dont work for tapes so save your money and time and just take her in.

Oh this isn't as big a problem and it seems. All you need to do is give your cat some worming tablets. You can buy these at vets, and supermarkets. Worming your cat is part of being a cat owner and should be done regularly - approx every three months.

If you are not confident to worm the cat yourself your vets nurse will help you and show you how this is done.

Good luck.
Ps - worms are contagious between animals and humans so might pay to pick up some worming tablets for yourself and anyone else in your family. If you have an itchy bum at night then chances are you have worms too.

It sounds like tapeworm, which rodents and birds carry. The cat eats the prey and gets the parasites along with the meat.

This is totally treatable, the vet has a medication that clears it right up, but if the cat keeps eating prey, you'll get it reoccuring occasionally as new parasites are injested. Another good reason to keep a cat in the house all the time.

Well first off you need to find out what kind of worms they are...

When they come out and dry up do they look like rice? If so they are tapeworms...if they dont then they are roundworms..

The only way you are going to get rid of them is to go to the vet....and if you have more than one cat...you need to treat all of them...or they will just spread again..

Yes it is gross...but thats what you get when you take care of an animal....

Also clean out your litterbox right away...

has your kitten ever been dewormed before?

all kittens are actually born with worms from what i've been told, that's why it's important to get them dewormed.

after you deworm her, i'd suggest getting some revolution for her. It fights against fleas, ear mites, roundworm, ringworm, tapeworm and hookworm. doesn't cost all too much either! great purchase!!

remember to put some fresh litter in her box once you get her treated. make sure you use 20% bleach in it to kill any bacteria that could be in there.
