I work in a frame shop and yea I'm a little bit of an environmentalist. I've changed all the light bulbs except the one in the fridge pretty much...if they made eco friendly fridge lights...yea I would changed that one too! lol.
In the fram shop I'm constantly keeping scraps of glass or mats and using them from other pieces of art work for out customers. It's not a bad thing, it's brand new and I place different material in different drawers. My old manager thought I was a little silly..but I was also saving the shop money so she didn't care.
My new manager however never even bothered to ask me about the material and threw away at least 700 bucks worth of scraps into the trash! She came to me and basically said global warming doesn't exist, and that it's all a scam. I personally believe global warming is a problem, but I've never mentioned my beliefs to her at all. Plus I was saving the shop money!! What would you have done? Do you think Global warming is an issue or just con

One can believe that global warming isn't real AND be frugal. I don't see where the two are related.

Global warming is happening but man is not to blame. If he were, Mars would not be heating up. The Earth's climate fluctuates. I think it was around 400 A.D. that we experienced a mini ice-age.

In the 1970 we had to stop doing things because we were causing global cooling. We would all be dead by the early 80s if we didn't stop breathing or some such stupid thing. Then in the 80s it was the ozone hole and if we kept launching the Space Shuttle we would all die of skin cancer before 2005. Well we are still here. These people are just trying to scare you into shutting down all manufacturing except for China or some such stupid concept. Aside from wanting more tax money and more control over your life I can't figure out what the motive is. It's just dumb, I have been tuning it out since I bought my first car with pollution control devices on it. The same engine in the same weight car got less than half of the mileage my previous car got. Just think how cool it would be if overnight every vehicle fuel economy doubled. Anyway, that is when I stopped listening to the morons on that side of the fence...

between the stranger issues to happen in modern-day political discourse -- and this might properly be a crowded field -- is the morphing of world warming right into a left-wing plot, a conspiracy by using godless scientists to ... properly, it is not sparkling what benefit the scientists get from spreading lies approximately international warming. consistent with possibility they only want examine funds to verify this nonexistent warming element. I also have a notably sturdy concept the place that meme started. in case you suspect that international warming is guy-made, then you fairly suspect that greenhouse gases are a foul element. in case you suspect they're a foul element, you suspect they could be decreased. And reducing greenhouse gases could advise employing much less petroleum, in all its myriad varieties. and since the present administration is devoted to the risk-free practices of petroleum companies, that's merely organic that it may attempt to convince its base that circuitously international warming is being promoted by using the comparable people who approve of gay marriage, abortion and secular colleges. the concept that international warming is a liberal plot is a lunatic concept, besides the undeniable fact that it is techniques-blowing how heavily it maps with public opinion. it is an extremely valuable con pastime, and it is offered the oil companies a minimum of a decade of salary and indolence. it is not sparkling why evangelical Christians -- or that area of them that are die-stressful supporters of George Bush -- could be so involved interior the economic well-being of oil companies. it is not as though they are getting something out of it. So the president, who isn't something if no longer consistent, is attempting to adhere it to environmentalists back. final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, he nominated 3 human beings for ideal-point jobs at posts that impression our surroundings. All 3 nominations have been blocked, and thank you, Barbara Boxer. yet now the president is thinking of growing to be recess appointments of the comparable 3 human beings. He thinks that's a game of rooster. He thinks he has to win. Is politics the artwork of compromise? no longer anymore. Politics is the artwork of slandering your enemies and useful your campaign individuals.

Global warming is real, but it's part of a natural climate cycle we have no control over. How it's being presented by the "Al Gore" crowd IS a scam though. Don't buy into it.

Well as much as I too am concerned about global warming (though I feel it's a bit hopeless, thanks to people like your boss who throw stuff away without a second thought), the real issue in this scenario is your manager wasting money and company resources! Stop talking to her about global warming/the environment and explain how what you do saves money. That is something tangible and something she, as a manager, should be concerned about. The bottom line.

But, unless there is a general manager or someone over her that you can appeal to about this issue, I'm afraid there's not much you can do aside from scrimp and save and reuse as much as you can. Hide stuff from her. Hehe

Your recycling and energy saving habits are to be applauded.
Whatever the facts are about global warming, it doesn't hurt to conserve.

I think that global warming is a very serious issue. It is people like your manager that are making the problem even worse. Even if she personally doesn't believe in global warming, what about filling up the landfills? Surely she can't deny that is an increasing problem.

Global warming is real--and alll the fake "skeptics" in the world won't change the facts.

As for your new manager--I've never seen a case in which someone with that kind of closed mind doesn't also have other problems. If you are wise you will start looking for another job. She is going to create a lot more problems--count on it.

Well if you could stop a volcano from erupting or stop China from poluting then you might be able to actually contribute. Other than that your attempts are futile. I used to recycle everything possible until i saw a trashman throw it away a few times and saw everyone I know just throw everything away.. I said screw it after years.

Perhaps its true that the ice caps are melting but be sure of this, the earth will never be flooded completely because God promised He will never flood the earth again for the sins of humans.
