Good question. But throwing up the race card always has been and always will be a Liberal's first line of defense against Conservatives.
And now, the NeoConservatives are adopting that practice.
I oppose ALL illegal immigration - no matter if it's Mexican, Canadian, Spanish, Asian, Indian, etc., etc.
And I endorse ALL legal immigration.
But somehow, that makes me a racist in the eyes of Liberals and NeoConservatives.

I believe that any person who enters the country illegally is a criminal and ought to be treated as such. When we act leniently on these criminals, what is it saying to others who have felt the sharp side of justice?
I do believe that as a country of immigrants, they should be allowed to retain their culture and language, but they should also make attempts to learn ours. The children of illegals do, learning English in school. But the parents are rarely seen making the extra effort to learn the English language, and props go out to those who do take the necessary time to do so.
And some illegals say that they do not have time, that the waiting list is too long. Well i think if they were to tell that to the law abiding foreigners who wait the six or seven years they would find that here are others with their problem who are able to survive and follow the law at the same time.
I just don't think we would have the same views if a black man killed his employer before he was fired. After all, he was looking out for his family and needed the work, but doing something illegal just isn't the right course to take.

Not all who oppose illegals are called racist.
But read some of the responses on Immigration, there are obvious racists in the group. The racists within the anti-illegals aren't quiet about their racism at all and racism is never tolerated. Of course they will be called racists when they make fun of someone's language, culture, and skin color. Not to mention the idiots who talk about genocide.

Very good question indeed. Criminals are not a race and neither are illegal aliens.
Calling people racist who are against others breaking the law and the law turning other way is nothing more than to try to give cause for their disrespect to the laws of the land.

Thank you for pointing this out! Seriously what logic are people using now a days to rationalize this? They are Illegally in our country and if they want to become citizens, then they need to do it the right way! Up until then, treat them like every other criminal.

Since it doesn't come from a racist site, they don't believe it. What nonsense. I have spoken with a family of hispanic Americans recently who are involved in the fight against illegal aliens, they have told me that their family and many of their friends have turned against them because of their views on this subject. It is only the ones with illegal relatives who mainly are advocates for these illegal aliens. Legal and Hispanic Americans are the ones who are most affected and hurt the most by the presence of these people.

Very good question. As stated above, liberals throw out the race card whenever possible. It's their "ace in the hole" so to speak. If someone wants to come here legally, then so be it. That is what our country is founded on. But to sneak in, or come here illegally....stay the frack home. We have enough problems without adding that to it.
And when did Spanish become every day for us here in the US? Right now I am looking at a trash can lid that has TRASH CAN written in Spanish. Can anyone figure out why the price of consumer goods has gone up in the past ten years?????

Because there is no rational argument that could stand up to even the slightest scrutiny. They have to play the race card because they have no other cards to play.
Do you think the Democrats are going to come out and say we want a new group of people to enslave with social welfare programs, thus guaranteeing them a constant supply of ready voters. How about the Republicans saying; we need the cheap labor for our corporate cronies.
